I can tell this is inspired by Matisse! I agree on the color and details, and I like the background too. You did a good job with the shadow in the back adding depth to it.

Alex, your work is getting better and better. You definitely need to keep drawing and painting; you have a God-given gift! I love the way your attention to detail on the bluejay contrasts with the softness of the background. Brings the bird forward in the picture, giving a more 3-D effect.

This is so good, Alex! The watercolor background really makes the texture of the bird and branch stand out and look 3D!

I keep coming back to this painting because I really like the ducks and how you made the water move around them. I also like the definition in the tail feathers and the colors! You keep getting better and better Alex!! You have a gift of being an artist and I hope you never stop.
