I like how you added texture and pattern to your pumpkin! And you did it in the right spots to edge the pumpkin. Nicely done!

Shoot for the stars, Madi! I bet you didn't know that the blue stars you drew is a needlepoint stitch I have done many, many times. It's called the Smirna stitch. We can try it together sometime, you can draw it, then I will stitch it. And if you want, you can stitch it too.

Wow, Madi! You did a great job of capturing the color of the sun reflections on your brilliant sunflower. I also like the way you carefully captured the ripening seeds in the middle. It reminds me of the pictures we get from you when you go to visit the sunflower fields in Colorado! Love, Grandpa.

WOW! I really love the color blocks and the bold black lines to divide the space. Your art made me find out more about Piet Mondrian myself! I think you really captured his methods! Great job!

Hi Madi, Love this crayon picture, so bright and a great use of lines to show the crayon's emotions. Makes me want to read the book "The Day the Crayons Quit" to find out what it's about. Maybe you can tell me about it when you visit. I know! I'll see if I can get it from our library and we can read it together (with Cam, too)!

Hi, Madi! You are doing some great artwork in kindergarten…what fun! This person looks very happy and is standing in front of a colorful birthday door! I wonder if this person has any loose teeth in that big smile? Love, Nannie and Papa ??
