I'm blown away! Falling leaves, blue sky, green vegetation. This artwork could easily be used as the cover illustration for a book (Whitman's "Leaves of Grass") or song ("Blowin' in the Wind," "The Falling Leaves" drift by my window . . .). What are the media? What are the dimensions?

Stella's piece here is inspired by the art of Yayoi Kusama, who is renowned for her dotted objects, including living trees. This artwork of Stella's, and Stella is a young fifth grader, incorporates Kusama-like dots into a seemingly weightless sphere and could easily sit alongside the mature artist's corpus. Since this piece is papier-mâché, it is probably about three inches in diameter. But this dimension is only a guess. What are the dimensions? I hope there's an art exhibition.

The symmetry takes a moment to notice; it's very well done.

The colorful shapes floating on the pink picture plane reveal a capriciousness inherent in the artist. She has portrayed a dance performed by animals, leaves, hearts, and pizza. Do some participants want to leave the dance or enter it as they approach the perimeter?

Stella has grasped the implied form of the pumpkin by bending the object's shape to conform with the perspective from which she viewed it. Is the light source in the back upper left of the picture plane?

Suggestive of Kenneth Noland's "targets," Stella's piece exhibits a mature grasp of color combinations and a mastery of the freehand circle.
