The bold, perpendicular lines are offset by the collection of meaningful objects. The use of shadow adds depth and texture to the image. A dialogue with the artist adds compelling interpretation.

What great perspective and shading! The shadows are so real! Awesome job, Gus!

Alas, I am inspired by your creation of woven Kente cloth with Adinkra symbols. My toga is threadbare. I wish to replace it with your complex pattern shown here - with your permission, of course.

Once again, Gus explores rich textures, dimensions and visual depth beyond traditional single-medium art

Gus this work reminds me of the good luck cats that wave and the Cherry blossoms blooming!

This work has a 3 dimensional quality. The viewer is drawn towards the image. The separation between viewer and image dissolves as the image overwhelms the observer.

Oh my gosh, Gus, I love this! What a terrific perspective. Love, Aunt Emarie

I am captivated by this rendition of a subject called Gus. I find this direct frontal view to be bold but not confrontational. The playful use of color releases any tension and fills the space with joy.

A massive wall of color dwarfs the life forms before it. Gus captures the power and diversity of the natural world.

It’s snowing in New Brunswick but I feel the heat of the sun on the cactus with this amazing art. Well done Gus!

Gus I love you you captured the different colors of blue and green in the water. I can just imagine the fish swimming through the seaweed!

The viewer finds this Gyotaku both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The orderly yet random textures are compelling.

I love this mixed media presentation. The use of color, minimalist drawings and pre-cut papers is quite expressive. Layers offer a fuller dimension and depth to the work. Illustrations of humans, trees and domiciles in a foreground brings the viewer home, as the mountains expand experience. A row of hearts on a neutral surface betwixt the here and the other unite all as One.

Good work, Gus. You used many tools to create this art. Colored papers, scissors, pencil, markers and sticks. You combined all of them to make this picture. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Gus, your watercolor is so bright and cheerful! Were you feeling happy when you painted it? The way the reds and greens play off each other makes me see a lot of action, and I feel happy too!. Love you!

Gus, I love the bright water colors and your use of bold black lines. My favorite color is the little bit of purple. It really accentuates the difference between the orange and red.
