Interesting picture, Mr. C. Well, Colton, I knew absolutely nothing about Sugar Skulls, so guess what I did ... yep, I did some research and I learned a lot. I learned about the Mexican religious holiday "Day of the Dead," which is celebrated on November 2. I learned you can draw sugar skulls on paper like you did, make one out of clay or sugar, or make a face painting. If you make it out of real sugar, you can even eat it! You can make sugar skulls black and white like you did, or make it very colorful. You can decorate it with with candy, flowers, yarn, sequins, glitter, or anything else you like. You can hang them in windows or put them on graves. If you want to learn more about sugar skulls, we can research together. Maybe we should make one we can actually eat. :-)

Hey, Colton, Nice picture! That reminds me ... Did your Dad ever tell you he used to play a trumpet in the school band? So did your Uncle Keith. He joined the Drum and Bugle Corps and even went to Europe with the Corps to play when he was a teenager! Aunt Kimmi played the clarinet. Well, I actually also used to be in the school band when I was a kid. I played the clarinet and bass clarinet in the concert band, and I got to clang the cymbals together in the marching band! That was fun! When I went to college, I learned to play the ukulele and the piano. Have you thought about what instrument you might like to play? There are lots of choices!

Hi, Colton. Nice ceramic owl here. I like all the textures you put in the clay. It would be fun to run my fingers over it. What are you going to put in it? I think this owl could be used to hold rings and things when you wash the dishes. Or can you hang it up somewhere with the pretty beads? Well, maybe this is a bracelet. I guess you need to tell me what you plan to do with your cute owl. I'm sure you have a good idea or two. Nice work!

Hi, Colon! This is an interesting design of straight lines and curls. I noticed that you used the same vivid, pretty colors on both sides of your design. That made this piece of art pleasing to my eyes. Thank you for sharing your lovely artwork with me! I'm always anxious to see your next work of art. Keep 'em coming!

Greetings to my favorite artist,Colton Zuehlke! This is sure an interesting picture! You have a lot of details in this picture. Are these all different buildings in a Silly City? Your "characters" all have different facial features. You have learned how to draw many different eyes and noses, My favorite is the red, white and blue one. Do you have a favorite?

Birch trees, right? This is a very nice picture, Colton. I love the white bark on birch trees. Did you know we used to have a birch tree in the back yard? I wish it was still there. Guess what ... I have a little canoe made out of birch bark. I'll show it to you when you come over. Some Native American tribes used to make canoes out of birch bark and animal skins. Shall we do a little research about that?

Hi, Colton! Nice colorful painting of fall leaves, kiddo! I can picture them (in my head) falling off the trees on a windy day, all the way down to the ground. Hey, do you suppose that is why the season is named "fall"? Hmmm, I never thought about that before ...

Hello, to our favorite artist, Colton Zuehlke! This is an interesting picture! It must be about Wild Things. Aunt Kimmi thinks it is a turtle standing up. PapaZ thinks it is a keyhole. Me, well, I think it is a picture of Jonah in the belly of the whale. Please help us figure this out. Would you please explain it to all of us? Thank you, Colton! :-)

I can see all the snow still coming down, and swirling all around him. Or her. LOL Nice snowman! Thank you for sharing your art with us!
