Emily… you are really making your sea creatures come to life! The light blue dolphin in the background, and the octopus, bright red in the foreground is the exact colors you should be using! I love the detailed geometric border that you have chosen to complete your picture. What a nice solution to finish your amazing drawing. Luv Nana Pam

Colorful flowers, different shapes and sizes is one of my favorite things to draw and paint. If you get a chance, find a magnifying glass and look very closely at the different parts of a flower. Find the seeds, pollen, and petals, you will be amazed at how delicate they all are, and how symmetrical/perfect each piece is! You did a lovely job Emily Jane! Nana Pam

Love your depiction of this Egyptian Pharaoh, Emily! You are becoming quite the artist. If your teacher lets you use any tools like a ruler, this can help you get the Hieroglyphics to look very stylized on each side! Nana Pam

I see the Egyptian style in this persons clothes and jewelry. So glad you are studying different cultures use of natural material to create their clothing and jewelry. This is all they had. Clay, stones, shells, to make beads, etc. You did a lovely job Emily! So proud of all your hard work.... Nana Pam

Love this Emily!!! What a beautiful scene of our Lord Jesus at his birth! You have included the shining star that guided the three wisemen to the lowly stable to our Lord Baby Jesus! And the simple gold color, finishes the relief nicely! So proud of you!

Nothing better than a little case that carries water colors! Did you know that in the olden days, the artists had to make their own paint? Now you can open a little, portable tin case, and mix any color you want. By adding more water, you can even git it to look darker or lighter! I love your example of your little miracle paint tin! Emily... what a beautiful job with this simple and happy drawing. So colorful, the arch makes me smile... I'm thinking it must be a rainbow over the desert, with cactus? ... and may the sun rising or setting? That's what is interesting about this sketch, it lets your imagination take flight :)

What a fun fall scene Emily! You are beginning to understand BACKGROUND and FOREGROUND, and there placement on the page. This is so important in getting getting a drawing to look more real (3-dimensional). Your scarecrow is so cute, with added details of a hat, flower and checkered shirt, and the little friend of a cat is a nice touch. Great job EMILY! Nana Pam...

Animals and wildlife are one of the hardest things to draw. Artists often narrow down to one type of species, example ducks or pheasants are quite often the choice of wildlife artists. Emily, you have done a great job of experimenting with the simple shapes that are the basics for all animals. Keep practicing, you’re doing a nice job?? Nana Pam

Emily, what a beautiful use of repetition. I love how your feathers gently flow from the peacocks body, outward… getting smaller. Great choice of colors also! Nice job…Nana Pam
