This assignment was very interesting. Your choice of adjectives was spot on. I’ve know you since you were born and have seen many of these adjectives develop, blossom and become part of who you are. I like how you are comfortable seeing yourself so well. All of these words make you a gift to many, including me!!??

This piece is abstract with soft tones. I like watching your work develop throughout the year. Art can be exciting and relaxing. I see both of these feeling throughout your work this year. Keep trying new approaches. Thanks Colin for sharing your work.

Colin I learned a lot from your description of this piece. Surprisingly I have been working on a very similar piece. When I finish it I’ll send it to you to see. I do like how you linked your drawing to coordinate with the differ land forms. Keep drawing Picasso !

Your zen tangle was filled with whimsy and color. Loved your mountains. You added your personal touch with the sunglasses on the sun!

Colin, This is fantastic! I love that you can really see how the perspective shifts from the bottom to the top, giving your boxes the illusion of three dimensions.

I love this piece Colin! You can feel the weight of the branches drawing downward with such attention to detail. I also noticed how you observed the shading of the sky and background. Looking forward to your next piece! Mom

Good job, Colin! I knew right away that it was your interpretation of the original photo of that tree and also think that trees are tricky to draw. The shading is well done, and it's easy to recognize that it's a willow tree! You achieved your goal and learned a new technique in the process (will have to look that up). Am looking forward to your next piece of art. Love, Nana

You’ve captured the fullness yet still have open airiness. I particularly liked how your tree has a natural setting in rolling hills. It makes it part of a physical setting. My art teacher says you should try it again and note differences. It is amazing how changes happen. Thanks for sharing your tree project as well as your other work. ??

Hi Colin, This tree is so peaceful. Not only is it raising its arms to the Heavens but also growing to the earth. I love that it’s in black and white. It makes you use your imagination about the what the sky was like on this particular day. Is that fog I see?

Using bright dense colors is your style, and you've used it here very well to display your name and love of basketball. This font suits you, in describing Colin D. It's happy and energetic - just like you! - and makes me feel that way too! xxoo

Colin, I love how bright and colorful this piece is. I also love the font you chose. Fantastic!

Bold and beautiful! What a great use of color to create your design using a variety of weaving knots. For me, i see a scenic abstration. Good job for persevering and problem solving! Terrific artwork, Colin! Love, Nana xxoo

I liked you colorful yarn choices. Maybe a new country will pick your design for their flag. Nicely done.

What an interesting name for a bird. I love the bright orange color you chose. The blue sky really accentuates the bird.

Wow! You can just feel the textures of these worn sneakers, you could reach out and feel them.

I really love how these pop with color added. It looks like you could step into them and play basketball!

Colin, I LOVE these rich color fields and how the colors complement each other! Xoxo

I found this to be full of life with color and movement. I think you have created a unique piece. Some may say they see particular animals or other ideas, I like it as an abstract work. Well done! Norma

I, too, am so grateful to be able to see your artwork here. I love this! Your eyes are settled in just the right spot, which can sometimes be hard to find. I also can see the round, three-dimensional aspect of your face with the shading around the edges and on different planes. Bravo! xoxo, Auntie

Grampy and I recognized you right away, Colin! The glasses stand out and look just like yours. Good job on the eyebrows, and I was glad you persevered to get the ones you wanted! Nice shading on the skin tones too, and you recreated the hairstyle to look just like your own. Great to have a background to anchor your drawing, which is similar to a pattern Matisse once used. The stripes remind me of Holliston's school colors. Loved the "My Selfie" frame too! Bravo on entering your first piece at Artsonia! Love, Nana xxoo
