You're so talented at painting people, Evan. You could be a portrait artist. You're especially good at showing how the people you draw are feeling. This one look happy!

Jellyfish! Nice detail on the underwater seascape!

It looks as if there's a battle going on! I love the perspective you used, with one character close and big, and the robot and other creature smaller because they're farther away. And it's really great how you can make the characters you draw look like they're moving! That's a real talent!

A great face with some really crazy hair! Love it!

Evan! This is so good, I knew immediately it was Da Vinci's Mona Lisa! You really painted her reserved smile and the way she sits just like Leonardo did. And I love the background you painted behind her. Such excellent work!

You combined my favorite colors with my favorite bird! Can't wait to plunk yet another great Evan magnet on the fridge!

Your bird drawings are always a delight. This one has just the right amount of colors and detail. Sometimes people add too many things to their art. There's a saying: Less is more. You made all the right choices with this one. It's perfect.

These colors are so pretty together! And I really like the cherries with stems. And now I want a cupcake with sprinkles.

It's hard to choose, but this is definitely one of my favorites. Such a happy penguin, and SO well drawn! I love the colors and the squiggles that make him look both happy and moving. Your penguin looks alive, and we know just how he feels!

Great job, Evan! you really captured the energy of Wild Thing!

This is beautiful, Evan! I love that you put the darker, cooler colors on the left and the warm, sunshine colors on the right. It makes me think of how it looks when you wake up before the sun rises, cool and blue, and then the sun comes up and lights up the sky and trees.

Aw, these look like the happy Monarch butterflies you raised and released! You really did a good job showing how happy and fluttery they were!

Evan! This is SO GOOD, and not simply because I love pictures of cows! Your colors are perfect, and I like the way the cow and grass and the clouds line up like stripes. One of the things artists often try to do is lead your eyes over the page toward the most important part, something they call a focal point. Since we read from left to right, our eyes usually start at the left and move to the right, so it's great to put the most important part (like the cow's face that you drew so wonderfully) on the right. The way you drew the side of the cow all lined up with the clouds, and the top of the grass kind of turned it into the lanes of a highway. My eyes started left and sped down that highway right to the cow's face! You are such a talented artist!

This might be my favorite Evan original yet! Great job, kiddo. Love Aunt Lizzy (moo)

A rainbow turtle! He looks happy, and even fast (at least as fast as a turtle can go). Maybe the rainbow shell is his party shirt, and he's skipping along eager to get to the fun. You keep drawing and painting such wonderful art, we're not going to be able to find our refrigerator for all of your magnets!

Evan! I love this! Such cute, congenial mice! I really like that your mice are white, and they look even better with the strong colors you chose to paint in the background. I see another Evan Art fridge magnet in our future!

This reminds me of uluhe, a giant, fiddlehead fern that grows on the top of Mount Kamala in Hawaii. It keeps the mountain from eroding. Your drawing looks like a weaving. Blue sky at the top, then sunshine, the uluhe fiddleheads on the mountains, the blue ocean at their feet. And then island after island below. Thanks for sharing your drawings, Evan! They’re always a treat!

You’ll have to call and tell me about this one. The fun thing about art, is a lot of what a person sees in it comes from what that person has experienced recently or in their past. I look at this and see a Baby chick hatching out of its shell in early spring, and all of the colorful Easter flowers waving happily hello to their new friend. Someone else might see fireworks, or falling leaves, sea creatures r zooming planes and rocket ships. But what we’ll all notice is how free and confident your wonderful squiggle shapes look, and all the different patterns you drew inside them to make each one interesting and unique. Great job.

This one’s fun! Are they hairy insects? Bugs with springs spronging out like Slinkies? Electrified centipedes, spiders, roly polies, butterflies and snakes? Your drawing inspires so many stories and adventures! Good job!

How did I miss so many of your drawings?! This is such a pretty flower. I can tell you’ve looked closely at flowers. The shapes of your petals are just right, and the thickness of the stem you drew is perfect. I really like the texture you drew in the center with the black and brown squiggles. And the darker orange on petals near the center looks lovely. Beautiful art, Evan!

I love your robot, Evan! His rainbow eyes look lit from inside, and his whole body looks full of energy. Is he solar powered? He looks like he just woke up, supercharged and excited to get going!

Spring has sprung in this drawing, and the flowers are stretching for the warm sun. Bet the bulbs under the ground in your snowy yard can't wait to bloom. Nice job, Evan!

This is beautiful, Evan! There’s so much expression in the eyes, mouth, and jutting chin, I can see him thinking! Great job!

You are using all of my favorite colors! The cool blues and green look great against the contrast of the warm red and orange. Once you know to look, you can enjoy this same contrast over your family firepit, the warmth of the orange and yellow flames, and the cool green and blue leaves of the trees just behind the fire. Nice job!

Hi Evan, I love your painting of leaves! You did a really nice job on the shapes and details (like the veins on the leaves), and the outlines make the leaves look like they're moving in the wind, maybe spinning down against a pretty, October blue sky. Can't wait to see what you create next!
