Very interesting cubist representation! I imagine that it's really difficult to have a "picture" in your mind then to "disassemle and reassemble" that image using a geometric based composition!

Well, I saw this when I was at Grand Day with you. and as we discussed..... I'm not a fan of "cubist"/Picasso style., so all I can say is great job Evie (I guess)....

Evie, that’s amazing! It’s 10’s all around, and I take it it’s a self portrait!

Did you knit that Evie? I totally like the design and colors

Love the dimension of this creation, and the symbolism of God's creations with cake layers making me think of giraffes spots, tiger stripes and zebra spots with background of jungle vegetation.... at least thats my interpretation. Nice Job Evie!

Evie - Very Nice!! The starkness of the black and white focal patterns are really enhanced by the very light background contrasting pastels with their "rainbow/starburst" subtlety!

Evie, This is very interesting! I love the dimension this has! Love it??

Wow! Love it Evie, great/innovative use of geometric shapes and the one-point perspective gives this major dimension and 3-D perspective. The background really adds to the visual with the color and pattern schemes.... I am TOTALLY impressed!!!!!

Evie, I can't wait to hear about your color choices and the emotions you are representing. I had never heard of the artist you are studying- so I will learn a lot from you, I'm sure!

What a nice drawing. I am amazed at your artwork and how well you do! Great work!

Very nice and lightly understated in it's soft, gentle pastel palette suggesting perhaps a work in chalk(?)... although the the refined strokes and progressions and the lightness of the portrait almost subtlety emerging from the background feels more "pencil-ish" in its nature...

Nice self-portrate Evie. Faces are tough to draw and you did a great job!

Evie - Once again I am very impressed! The 'lightness'/understated background, in combination with just the few but well defined leaves in the foreground really work well to subtly draw the eyes into the main character... (the green of the leaves and the ever so slightly darker green of the subjects eyes are an inspired touch!). And the primary subject has such a wonderfully enigmatic 'expression'/facial composition... may I say - in a similar way to the famous Mona Lisa? (i.e. projecting a 'thoughtful' imagery although exactly what those thoughts may be are left for the character to know and the viewer to only ponder...) Well Done!!!

Great Tiger! Keep up the beautiful work :)

Your pastel painting of the tiger is very impressionistic, Great color scheme, interesting symmetry of the head/face and use of background for framing and casting message. You are a far better artist than I ever was Evie!!!!

Very colorful weaving of hearts.... For Valentines Day I suspect. Great work Evie!!!!

Really Great!! Love all the composition and contrasts with the sky, birch trees and shadows most prominent and the subtleties in the texture of the ground and little accents with the small tree and animals moving towards the shadow!
Posted 2 years ago by UncleRon

Love the color palate and texturing... the base brown of the tree trunk grounds the use of yellows, oranges and just the right accents of red to create a golden autumnal feel!...

At very first glance it appears as 2-D but very quickly my eyes go more towards a 3-D effect with the manger in the foreground and the gold star leading the eye towards a time or spiritual tunnel effect blending from dark to warmth to a pure white light... all in a somewhat Impressionistic style!
