I like your portrayal of that beautiful wooden cross. The grain and fissures give it a nice old character. It stands out against the earthly turmoil of green. The cross is now empty and the bright rising son makes it all joyful!

Love the bold colors, strong lines, and powerful shadow! There is an unambiguous horizon.

Is this inspired by Alma Thomas?

Hosea, I really like this artwork. I would love for you to teach me how you did this so that I can do it with my students. Great Job with the cool color blending on the dragon and the warm color blending on the background. What did you use to splatter the black dots? I think my favorite part is his eye ball looking at he dragon fly, I feel like he is thinking about lunch!

I like the leaf scars on the aspen trunks, and the slightly askance look to his eyes. What is he holding?

Is this a political comment on Halloween Hosea, or are you just trying to spook me?

This drawing is drawing me in! I love the colors you chose, it almost seems like the pumpkins are moving...at night when nobody's watching.

Is that a sugar daddy flying rainbow nut ice cream cone? ..or what? I'd like one.

I am genuinely moved by this one, Hosea. It reminds me of going out with Grampa, either to go sledding or cross-country skiing or just to look at the bright winter moon reflecting on the snow. Where do you think the walker went?
Posted 2 years ago by Sarah (Mother)

I love the story. Reminds me of winter moon walks with my kids. I see that the walker paused just for a moment in the foreground.
Posted 2 years ago by Grampa Wayne

Hosea, this one is too deep for me, but I like it.

Colorful bird sits proudly on beautiful eggs. In the bird's feathers are 0, 1,2, and 4. Where is 3?
Posted 3 years ago by Grampa Wayne

Now, that is a nice red crab, and he sits on the sand with the blue above. He seems happy.
Posted 3 years ago by Grampa Wayne

You made a very realistic crab. It would be neat to write a fact sentence about crabs. Some fun facts you could write about include: crabs are decapods, meaning they have 10 legs, female crabs can release 1,000-2,000 eggs at once, crabs hav eyes on stalks so that they can see in all directions even when under water, male crabs have blue claws and female crabs have red claws, and crabs work together to gather food and protect their families. Crabs are pretty cool crustaceans!
