Love this one! The picture of you hang gliding must have been one of the thrills of your life so
far! The pattern of the frame reminds me of a quilt. All of the trees below you show how unbelievably far you are up in the air. I am sure you will have many more adventures in your life! I hope you take time to draw or paint them as well. Love you buddy!!

So Henry, This is really great! First of all your self portrait is well done. You got everything in proportion which is not easy. I bet this will change the way you draw faces! I love the story of who you are in the background. The color of your room, the baseball, bat, the Cubs logo, Derek Jeter jersey and your shirt with the steel band. You have done so much in your short life and you must be proud of yourself for who you are! I am super proud to be your Nana!?

Hey Henry, I love this Day of the Dead artwork. The skeleton is funny as the Mexicans created happy skeletons. As you might know, they thought that death was a happy thing. I love his mustache! It looks like you drew the skeleton with a crayon and then painted the magenta over. The frame has designs that remind me of ones that are used in Mexican clothing and patterns in objects around their towns. I love the paper flowers too. I hope some day you can come visit Popop and me in San Miguel de Allende. There are lots of fun things to do and see!

Yarn paintings are hard to do! Keeping all the yarn going in a straight line and filling in the spaces. I see a crown which I am sure has meaning. The colors are well chosen and it reminds me of a flag. No Kings? Excellent job! XOXOX, Nana

First of all Henry, your self portrait is great! It is hard to get the right proportions and you did it! I love the wild shorts. What you have to say is an interesting comment. "Opportunity is nowhere" It feels like you are making a comment about the world today and especially in the US we are feeling stepped upon as if there is little freedom in our country right now. We will have to talk about your thoughts when we see you again. Love you lots! Nana

Hey Henry! So this is really cool!! I love the shapes. The mountains with the points at the top remind me a little of the pine trees with points on the top! The shading on the mountains is terrific. You did an amazing job and created a 3d look. The blue of the water is the same as the blue of the sky! The green with yellow marks makes the painting an imaginary landscape.Kudos buddy!!!

I would love to hear the story about this painting. For me it looks like showing someone in action with the least amount of details. Your shapes and lines are well chosen and show a guy hitting a baseball. The movement comes from the lines behind the ball. The player is ready to smack this right out of the park! This is a homerun of a painting Henry!!

Hey Henrys! In this world of negative people and thinking everything is going wrong. It is nice to see your artwork that shows a message about being positive. I love the idea of painting on popsicle sticks! It reminds me of graffitti that is all over big cities. The colors are really great. I really like the top colors that are a rusty red and green. Rock music was a time that helped people express their feelings. And the peace symbol was first being used by everyone. It makes you wonder how many people are at peace in their lives? You are an amazing guy! Artistic, musical, great baseball player and smart. You got it all bud! Love you lots, Nana

Okay Henry, This is an really great self portrait! You captured your face really well, the eyes, nose and mouth are drawn like a 6th or 7th grader would do it. I love your gesture, with your hands up on your head shows a feeling of anxiety, like you are late and in a panic. The ben day dots on the face look just like Lichenstein. you are getting better and better! Don't stop drawing! Love, Nana

Wow Henry! Watercolor is the hardest of all painting materials. I don’t use it that much because I am not good at layering. Next time we do art together, please teach me how to do it. The layers of color are beautiful and very transparent. I love the subtle colors in the water and then the colors in the sky a good view of an iceberg! You are on your way to becoming a full time artist. Love this!

So Henry, This is awesome! I am trying to figure how who it might be. I love the Africa American artists. One of my favorites is Faith Ringgold! We also have a couple of Jacob Lawrence’s pieces. Let me know who this is. It is a busy drawing of the inner city where the neighborhood is so important. You captured it well! Your use of warm colors and perspective is right on! The patterns on the up and bottom remind me of the fabric that Faith would use. You created a great piece of artwork buddy! ??

Wow Henry! I love Bisa Butler’s work. She is great at taking faces and creating very different portraits using fabric. You did a really good job by turning your own face into a cool design with bright colored shapes just like Bisa! Your stitches on the artwork remind me of her way of sewing her quilts. Kudos to you! Love you, Nana

Henry, This is terrific! I love movement of the people in the background and especially think the large person in the front is a great drawing of a person in motion. The colors you selected are really good. The green person stands out because it is a lighter color that the others. Congrats! You have painted a masterpiece. Love, Nana

Hey Henry, I LOVE this one. You got it! The horizontal lines in the sky and the mixing of different colors of orange are terrific. Then the lower half is very different with the half circle lines of the desert and the short black lines in the cactus that make them look very prickly. It is really good!!!

Wow! Your abstract painting is terrific. It has a lot of movement and interesting colors that melt together. Next time we do art together, we can make some of these on my print press. I love your phrases on the top of the picture. You are an amazing guy that I love super much! Nana

Hey Henry! Your penguin is great. I love the way you repeated the dots from the eyes to the background to the circle on the top of his hat. You also repeated the stripes in his collar and his hat. You are an amazing artist!!! Love you, Nana
