Beck, I love your Taj Mahal watercolor! The contrast of the black outline with the pops of the blue and pink in different tones with the white coming through really catches your eye! Watercolors are such a great medium with so many different methods you can use. Wet on wet, wet on dry, etc. I love that you are learning about India and I love that you are learning about different medias to work in escalating your knowledge of creating art. Beck, As always I am so happy to see you doing such a variety of creative artwork. Obviously you are studying native American art history. I love that you are learning about art from all over the world the customs, the reasons behind the art and how they made the artwork. I know that the native Americans used porcupine quills to do this type of work. Your colors are so authentic and I love your design. Beck, I love that you’ve made a cover for a children’s book. That is something I have never done and I’m impressed by what you’ve created. There are so many places in our lives that art is needed. I love the title. It is said that if you write, you should write about something you know. You certainly know soccer and the title would certainly make sports fans want to read a most likely interesting and funny story. The graphics and pictures are really good and I love the cast of characters you drew. I’ll bet your Aunt Hannah’s mom Kelly would love to see this since she has written so many children’s books. Beck, The art movement of surrealism lead by Salvador Dali is such an imaginative interesting and fun era to learn about. You have definitely captured the feeling of his famous painting “The Persistence of Memory”. It is one of his most recognizable and famous paintings. I got it immediately. Beck, Another great job on your art assignment. You definitely got the graphic design and use of black outline and color pops associated with Roy Liechtenstein’s work. I grew up seeing his art in comic books and advertisements. He was such a well known pop artist. Beck, Love the Jackson Pollack style of painting! I recognize his drip /splatter style . His work was driven by feeling and emotional and movement. I can see all of those things in your artwork. My eye is drawn to the splatter of red and all the movement of other colors surrounding it connecting straighter lines of various colors. Great job! You know I am one of your biggest fans. Beck, This is BEAUTIFUL!! The colors are so contrasting and I love the lights and shadows, they really create interest and depth. There is so much movement. It gives a liquidity effect. If you know who the famous french impressionist artist Monet was (if not maybe you’ll learn about him) it reminds me of his work. Beck, I really like your wheel color sphere in space. You know how much I love bright beautiful colors. The black against the white gives so much contrast and makes the colors intensify and really pop! I like the variety of sizes of the spots of colors. Beck, You did a great job on your silhouette. I know you are studying Rembrandt and the difference between light and shadow. That is a very important thing to learn when creating art. Rembrandt is one of the great old masters as you know who lived a very long time ago. Yet even today we can learn from things that he did hundreds of years ago. Great job!! Keep creating. I use to love the scenery on the plates. There was so much to look at. Buildings like you made with willow trees and birds.
