If cicadas looked like this in 2024, I wouldn’t have brought my zap-it racquet to every outdoor baseball game that season. They would be too pretty to zap; unless, of course, one landed in my hair. If that happened, I wouldn’t be able to make such promises on the state of a cicada’s chances of life.
