Emma, this is a well designed artwork! Reminds me of Mexican Folk Art. Looks like you engraved lines into foil to make your design. The bird has good proportions, the heart pattern surrounding the edges frames it and adds texture. The word PAZ (peace) describes the scene perfectly and it makes me feel peaceful while I’m looking at it, well done!

What a lovely butterfly Emma, just in time for Spring! Curious about how you made it, hope you can tell sometime.

Emma, your abstract bird collage reminds me of art work by local artist Charley Harper. Natures Niche at Farbach Warner featured his work in the gift shop. Your collage shows you understand how to make abstract art by looking at a detailed subject and focusing on the basic shapes and colors, just like he did! Not easy but you did it well!

Emma your self portrait is terrific and looks like you! I love the bright magenta color of your background and symmetrical design. Reminds me of Mexican style paintings. Keep up the good work!

Emma, I like how you combined painting and drawing in this artwork. Your blended watercolor background is lovely and gives your artwork unity. Your black and white patterns makes your drawing interesting and keeps the viewer looking at it for a long time since there’s so much to see!

Clay is so fun to work with and challenging! I love the magenta and teal color glazes you used on your owl. The scalloped pattern on the belly adds a lot of texture like feathers. I think your owl with his big eyes is very good observer like you! Sometime I would like to meet your owl in person!

The famous French artist Henri Matisse created a painting like yours. He is another one of my favorite artists because like Picasso he worked in paint and paper collage in his own unique style! Your lovely painting has a simple composition, bold colors and patterns like Matisse but in your own unique style!

Emma, this is a very interesting collage! I love all the background papers you used behind the guitar, the contrast of the simple dark brown guitar shape against the blues and neutral patterns in the background creates interest and leads the viewers eye around the artwork. I’m thinking you might’ve been studying collages by Pablo Picasso, he is one of my favorite artist because he was not afraid to be unique and creative in his artwork!! You are very creative too!!

Emma, this painting reminds me of Vincent van Gogh’s painting of sunflowers only I think yours is more cheerful and makes me happy when I look at it! I love how you showed your brushstrokes in the background and the color of the vase with sunflowers just pops on the blue contrasting background. Your artwork is getting better and better, I can tell you had confidence when creating this lovely bold painting, keep up the good work!!

Emma your artwork is stunning! It reminds me of traditional Mexican yarn paintings with the bright colors and symbols for the four nature elements, earth, water, air and fire. You have pink and purple flowers that come from the earth, blue horizontal yarn that looks like ripples in water, a bright yellow, red and orange sun for fire and white swirly clouds for air. I’ve done yarn painting before and I know gluing the yarn in a pattern you deign is not easy! It takes steady eye-hand coordination, focus and concentration and your results show you have done a terrific job in all three skills!! Your design is bright and beautiful!

Emma, I knew immediately your painting was inspired by the famous artist Claude Monet’s painting called The Water Lily Pond! You did a magnificent job of creating a similar design and brushstrokes but I like your colors more than his! I noticed how you changed the color, size and direction of your brushstrokes for the trees, sky and pond to give your painting unity and rhythm! It’s a beautiful painting, love seeing your artwork Emma!

Emma I love your drawing! I like the way you used pattern on the giraffe and in the background with the leaves. You also used overlapping by drawing the giraffes head in front of his neck which makes it look real and 3D. It looks like you used crayon and watercolor resist technique in the background. I think placing the giraffe off center was a smart move, it makes your drawing more interesting to look at. You’re drawings are so creative, keep up the good work!

Emma, your drawing makes me feel free as a bird! The pattern of light blue pencil strokes you used make the girl look like she is flying in the sky among the shining bright stars. The frame makes me feel like I’m looking out a window seeing something magical!

Emma, the way you drew your tall buildings close together with the narrow street in front makes me feel like I’m walking on the sidewalk in New York City! The light and dark colors you used lead my eyes from one part of your drawing to another and the ice cream cone with cherry on top is a fun burst of color that makes me smile :) It looks like you enjoyed using a lot of different drawing tools! I love seeing how you are experimenting and expressing yourself in your artwork!
