Avery, I really like your new artwork which was posted on Artsonia. The colors are lovely, and the shapes go together in a very pleasing pattern. Looking forward to your next picture. Love, Grammy

Hi, Avery, I love your blue dog picture. He has one ear flopped over and looks very happy surrounded by a sandcastle, beach towel, and his ball(?). Your crab looks just like the ones I used to catch in Crab Creek which is behind the House in which I grew up. I would get chicken necks or slices of bacon from my mother, take them and my oars to the boat, row out into the creek and tie up at a post. Then I dangled my bait in the water until a crab started jerking on the line. I’d slowly pull up the line until I could see the crab, then I’d lower my net and quickly swoosh it under the crab. Sometimes a fish would nibble at the bait, but it was easy to tell the difference between a crab’s jerk and a fish’s nibble. Other afternoons I would row over to my friend’s house, or row out to Sandy Point, which divides Crab Creek from the Elizabeth River. All this was in Norfolk, Virginia, where I grew up. Please share this comment with Kaylie. She also might like to know about things I did when I was a child. I love you always, Grammy

Dear Avery, I really like your repeating design drawing! How did you pick the colors? The sixth row down looks like the checkers game that Kaylie drew and the two of you played up at Lakeside. I hope that you have a good week. Love, Grammy

Dear Avery, I like your new picture which is in the style of Piet Mondrian. I think he was Dutch or Flemish. Ask your Mom or Dad to show you where his home is on a map. I miss you. Love, Grammy
