I really like this! And yes, the flames are very nicely rendered. You captured the idiom perfectly. I also love the way you textured the mountainside. The whole effect is worthy of a New Yorker Cartoon (ask Mom).

Collage is a difficult medium. The results here are very pleasing. Your comments about choice of colors and where you could improve this with small splashes of additional colors are astute. Consider trying a series of this type of bird using rearrangements of these and other color rearrangements.

Great! I like the balance between realism and abstraction. Background and composition are perfect. I don't know if running off the canvas was intentional, but I think it adds energy to the depiction. Watercolor worked great for wood grain.

I love "Loving Deer". It's abstract yet representational. The colors are perfect and the red heart could not be better. You should not worry about accuracy - just focus on form, color and composition. Keep up the good work!
