Love this Blake! The addition of black in the back was perfect and the colored pencil on the lantern was genius!

I’m not sure what this supposed to be associated with so I’ll just give my interpretation. To me it makes me think of a lot of taffy being prepared for the machine that stretches it so it can wrapped in individual pieces.I curious to what it is supposed to represent!

The title Silent boat reminded me of a saying submarines use.Run silent run deep.It was used mainly during WWII.

I really like this drawing Blake. You incorporated a plethora of shapes and designs to achieve different effects throughout your drawing.I was particularly impressed by the allusion of depth that was enhanced by the ceiling. It sounds like you were given free reign to create what you personally wanted too. That’s what art is for. This is your picture. You drew what your brain imagined and and no one else was involved.I love it.It is an original!

I am honored that Blake created this with me in mind(Grandpa) and because he is taking German language in school.I also spent time in Germany when I was in the USAFSS.Thanks Blake.I will be ordering a memento soon.Danke!

Great job Blake as this is only your second watercolor.I like that you showed the appreciation you have for your old school.I also like the way you used more subdued colors.I can’t wait to see how you progress using watercolors.

Love this Blake! You did a great job with the watercolor. I recognize it as the flags from out front of school.

Who doesn’t like a picture of a huge dragon in a fantasy setting. How would this dragon show off his power and authority. How would he stand up to other dragons to try to prove his physical power and his dominance and authority? Everyone imagines themselves as a dragon that is unbeatable and rules the world growing up.

I appreciate the simplicity of the picture but it leaves itself open to many different interpretations depending on the person who is observing it.I think that it would be great framed and by an entrance to a home so that everyone could see it and interpret it the way they wanted to.It would be interesting to have a group of guests gather around and discuss amongst themselves what they interpret it as being.

Very interesting.I find the eyes are what caught my attention. They have an intense aspect to them that appear that they are looking into the the inner parts of the person or object they are looking at to find out what the persons thoughts are or what makes the machine work.Great creativity!
