I can see your latest interest showing in your artwork Alex. I think you created a very accurate drawing of the pick up truck. Even showing the shocks. Interesting that you chose red for the truck and blue for the windows. Phillies inspired?

Alex you’re showing progress in your portrait drawings. Next year when you’re in 6th grade and look back at your drawings you will be amazed. I like how you always include the puppy.

Alex, as soon as I saw this artwork it gave me the very feeling I’ve had on a moonlit night in fresh snow. The air is crispy cold and quiet, moon shadows all around on the white snow. Peaceful and full with wonder. GG

Alex I see you used the warm colors for the leaf and the cool colors for the background. I also thinks it’s interesting how you created the frame for your painting.

Is this your pond? Something makes me think that it is!

Alex, I can see the cubist influence in your bowl. The still life arrangement reminds me of Van Gogh and Cezanne still life paintings. I like the color contrast between the bowl and the fruit.

Your interpretation of the great wave is fantastic. I like the way the colors of the water contrast with the warm colors of the sky. The arching wave creates a sense of foreboding in your painting. The details of the bird and fish add interest to your work.

Hey Alex, this piece of dot art is amazingly intricate and eye catching. As though it’s illuminated from behind the variety of colours and size of dots are brought into focus. From our perspective, some of the spaces are filled in by very small pieces that must be delicately placed. We’re very pleased with this creation Alex. Well done!

That’s a very interesting way to create art. The dot method is fun but it can take sometime to complete. The way you used the colors and patterns created an interesting composition. I see you were very precise in how you applied the color. We really enjoy seeing your art Alex.

Excellent self portrait Alex! You did a great job with your facial proportions. I noticed you’re wearing a PRR t shirt. ?? You made the rainy sky look very realistic using the watercolor and salt wash. You also developed very interesting and colorful patterns on your umbrella.

Alex , I imagine you’re able to read this note yourself! Your artwork tells a the story of a very hot day in the summer. The barn does get hot, especially if your working. I can see the bright yellow sun on everything and a trough with water. I’d be tempted to jump in there! Good work!

GG and I are impressed by your farm scene done with cut paper. We can see how you created the impression of space in your scene. It’s a very familiar sight for you. I believe you said it was done in the style of Matisse.

We haven’t read the rubric for this project, however it seems to a very well executed portrait in the style of Pablo Picasso. You have captured the cubist style quite well. We are also thinking it might be a self portrait! Great piece of artwork Alex!

This art piece is a lovely comment on the startling changes a butterfly needs to fly! You included the details, even the the golden dots on the chrysalis, help to show the wonder of it all.

Nice watercolor painting Alex. I like the way the warm colors in the background contrast with cool colors of water on the earth. I read a very significant meaning into your painting. The earth in the shape of heart represents the love we need show our home planet as we hold onto it as a precious resource we need to preserve.
