Bruce I love your plant, especially the design on the pot! It's so springy.
- Katie (Mother) on April 23, 2024
Is this a three-dimensional artwork or is it a sculpture? This is the type of plant that doesn’t need to be watered. However, it’s colorful and perhaps appropriate for Earth Day. Do you like to care for plants? Does your family have a garden? I enjoy seeing your artworks! Keep it up.

Wow! This project is very eye-catching! My first thought was “dragon’s eye”. Then “cat’s eye”. Is the medium clay? What is the eyeball made of? I hope you find a good use for this item. Keep on making art.

So this is your “Winter” project. I think you have captured the spirit of winter with a pale sun and dark skies and cardinals and perhaps snow circling the sun. The trees still have leaves which add a nice contrasting color to your winterscape. Nice!

Bruce I enjoy your poppy! I actually found the one you made last year recently and it's cool it see the difference!
- Katie (Mother) on November 29, 2023
I’m thinking that the flower is a poppy and that your artwork is about Veterans Day which is almost here. Have you read or heard the poem about World War I called “In Flanders Fields”? Your poppy is a strong contrast to the dull lines that may represent war and the equipment of war. Good work!

It looks like you are learning about Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival. It’s connected to, but NOT, Halloween. Your skeleton person is not scary, which I appreciate. You have many colors in addition to black and white, a nicely balanced composition. Good work!

Very cool! Is it a rainbow or a circle?
- Katie (Mother) on September 27, 2023
What you made is exactly like a quilting block. I’m guessing you made a big circle painting, cut it into 4 equal quarters, then rearranged them into a new design. Am I right? I like your color choices very much. Are you in 4th grade?

Are you possibly studying geodes in school? Your newest project suggests a geode with bright colors that contrast with the surrounding black. Or maybe this is a hilltop with tall red, pink and blue buildings on top of a hill. Sometimes I wish that you would title each art project to give me a clue. On another note, how are you feeling about being 9 years old now?

Bruce, are you thinking of spring storms? So many clouds, some with high contrast black and white patterns. So many bolts of lightning, all with two colors of yellow. And a three-dimensional pink object which points at a target where all this energy is concentrated. Yes, you are telling the story of a storm!

Oh, the vibrant colors! So much contrast! I’m guessing that you started with a paper plate, painted it with flourishes, then strung strings across to form a basic loom which you then wove in a circular pattern using high-contrast yarns or strings. Am I correct? Either way, it’s a 3-dimensional art project on which you are to be complimented! Way to go, Bruce!

We like your recent valentine project. Good choices of colors, plus your sense of humor is evident. And the rainbow is a fine addition. We enjoy seeing your artworks.

Bruce I love the night sky and all the snow!
- Katie (Mother) on January 19, 2023

Are you studying animals, Bruce? I think I see a parent animal and perhaps a baby animal behind and to the left. I wish you could tell me more about this particular one because I’m not sure I recognize which animal it is. But I’m always happy to see your artworks. Keep it up!

Oh, Wow! This could be called “Four Takes on One Idea”. Each of the four quadrants is different from the others through color. Is this paint or some other medium like chalk? Grampy thought it might represent flower petals. Very nice, Bruce.

Were you studying why poppies are the symbol of soldiers? I do like your 3-dimensional flowers which appear to rise up off the surface. Do you know which song the music notes represent? November 11 is Veterans Day, set after World War I back in 1918. A seasonal topic for you to learn about.

Bruce, I love your night sky!

A title could be “Trees at Night” perhaps. I like the terrain with patterns you created and how you spaced out your trees. So many different varieties of trees! This might be one of my favorites of your artworks. Keep up the good work, Bruce.

Grampy says it reminds him of a dog, perhaps Zeke, sitting in front of the laundry. But that has nothing to do with Hispanic Heritage. I love the textures and patterns everywhere which make me think of Mexico’s countryside. The black figure in the center? Can you tell me about that? Very symmetrical.

It looks like you are trying a new technique here, cross-hatching in different colors and at different angles. All within a circle and maybe using chalk on black paper. Do you have a title for this artwork?

Bruce I love your flowers, I want to set the vase down at my desk to enjoy then more!

How nice to think of bees! They pollinate flowers and crops, and they make honey. Your honey looks delicious!
- Grampy And Grammy on June 1, 2022
Very cool artwork, I think bees are neat and I like how this one has fluffy stuff on it. Very cute

So many colors and textures! This is one fine bug. I hope you continue to make art because I’m waiting for it.

This makes me think of a rainbow but in a circle, not in an arc. Maybe it’s like looking into a volcano. Keep up the good, creative work, Bruce.
- Grampy And Grammy on March 9, 2022
Ooh Bruce this is fun! It looks like the rainbow is also an eyeball watching me!
- Katie (Mother) on February 23, 2022

Super awesome, Bruce! Your snow globe is great!
- Katie (Mother) on January 25, 2022
It looks like two snowmen are in a snow globe and enjoying winter. Have you made a snowman recently at your house? Your picture tells me what I am missing in Florida — cold weather and snow.

Bruce, your favorite color was orange, and maybe it still is. Were you thinking of a pumpkin which is in season? The black spots add good contrast. Keep making artworks! —Grammy

I like the project’s name, skin tone rainbow. Do your classmates have those skin tones? How very diverse of you all. You have included some interesting details in your project, which I like.

You are becoming a fine modern artist. Lots of contrast, good choice of colors.
- Grammy on June 9, 2021
Very cool paper art, Bruce!

This is a more peaceful composition since you used pastel colors. I like this one, too.
