Dear Finlay, I know we talked about this art piece, but I still wanted to send you a note also. I just really like the colors and the pinwheel umbrella showing just the legs of the person. I can imagine them walking or dancing while twirling the umbrella. Calliope and Barrett's art were also very colorful. Love, Grandma Becky

Dear Finlay, This is a very pretty ceramic art piece. Is this the one that you gifted? That was very generous to share your art. Next time you are out here at Oma's I will show you the ceramic pieces that your daddy and Uncle James made when they were in school. I worked on one page in my art book last night, drawing Christmas lights on a string. I'm supposed to shade them to add lighting effect but I'm not quite confident that I can make it look like I want it to. Maybe you can give me some pointers next time you are here. Dear Finlay, I used to love to draw pictures with winding roads going off into the distance or up a mountain. You have done a very nice job with your distance perspective. Fences are fun also, with each post or picket getting smaller. Love you, Grandma Becky

Dear Finlay, it is the season for BUGS! It's a good time to go exploring with a magnifying glass to see what is emerging. In my garden the moss has sent up tiny little flower stalks, like a miniature forest. I think you, Barrett and Calliope could draw awesome moss plants next time you visit. Dear Finlay, this was certainly an interesting assignment and I like the variety of patterns you chose for each pumpkin section. My favorite might be the spidery or lightning flash pattern in the center of the right hand pumpkin. Keep up the awesome creativity!
