This is a powerful comment suggesting visually the skeletonized appearance of imprisoned Jews during the Holocaust, while expressing the pride of identifying oneself boldly even under such circumstances. It is an impressive representation of that dichotomy.

Is it a self-portrait??

Dear Ava, This is a beautiful piece of work. Your great grandma loved to crochet and she made many afghans for her children and grandchildren. She tried to teach me, but I just couldn't get the hang of it. She also taught me how to knit which I could do and liked doing it. This has so much personal meaning for me. I love you. Grandma

I had not seen this one before and love the design and use of colors. Another favorite of mine. Grandma Sandy I enjoy browsing through all your artwork.

One of my favorites. It's a pleasure to look at. I especially like your use of primary colors, the bright yellow circular object against a dark blue back ground perfectly centered. Grandma Sandy

You have captured the essence of the flower in it's glass like fragility.

What I love about all your pieces is the intentionality of your designs and the specificity and thoroughness of your creative concepts. That you are thinking of this piece as the beginning of an idea that can be expanded over time expresses a maturity of thought about artistic development and about the growth in life over the passage of time. Well-done!!

Layered black, white and grey floating pumpkins. A unique way of eliminating the typical orange coloring associated with the subject as well as the flattening of the shape, introducing weightlessness as descriptive. It makes the observer rethink a usual common perception.

I am learning so much about watercolor technique from your pieces !

Not only did I enjoy the concept and the artwork, I learned a couple of things about watercolor painting! I am intrigued to know more about Willy, his round yellow eye, and the "thingy" on his head: definitely a unique guy. And you know, Ava, that I love that your creativity led you conceptually to books and a library !

I have not seen the artist's textual comments on the meaning of this drawing but I perceive it as indicating a working sketchbook, much work completed but room and intention for adding more.

I find this especially compelling, especially the blankness of the people

Ava I loved reading the reflection you posted about this piece, especially the part about the specifics of the features versus how the features fit together. Also it made me laugh when you observed there are few picture of Samberg with a neutral expression looking at the camera.

I found this animation mesmerizing, especially since it is a single picture. I loved seeing the artist's hands bring it further to life.
