Picaso, Rembrandt, move over here comes the new artist of the 21st Century. Creativity, imagination and art skill are easy to see in this project. The spacing of the different colors along with the different structures allow for the mind to generate a lot of thoughts......

Gracie, muchas graccias por hacerme una taza de cafe. It is well designed with the handle big enough to place a finger through the hole. The rough outside makes the cup so rugged. Nice job lovely granddaughter.

That is amazing!

What a good self-portrait!! To me, the face says I have a lot to say, but not right now. The nose is there on the face but at the same time not really there. The eyes are level and balanced.... there is some skill behind this work.

It appears that you needed a lot of patience in completing this project. Planning the layout, determining the color sequences and decisions on how wide the lines should be. The result to me, is that this is 3-D.

Well Gracie, working on shadow drawing and with dimensions...You care about your work looking very good. Grandpa enjoys each of your projects in art.

Gracie, the skills that you are learning in art will assist you in other fields of study. Your thinking will become more creative and you will see a problem from more directions. Your most recent art work displays skills in forming the design, aligning everything in the proper order and finally place each part in the proper dimensions. A touch of color done by the glazing process is a nice addition.

A leaf The leaf is very well proportioned. The green paper with a black background and then the leaf is outlined in green. Very good layout of the project.

A shoe, is the shoe used or is the shoe used? Is the quality of the material you are using of top quality? Interesting pencil work to formulate a shoe. The dimensions appear to be very good for the shoe.

Gracie, this house appears to show a fence, a sidewalk, windows, and a gated door. I do believe that on the left, that is a picture of your very large bed that is in the house. I did notice that the each color is carefully applied in each section which allows for a clean picture.

Gracie, want fun it is to see your artwork. Your mind allows you to see a blank and you fill it with a creative painting. This piece shows me a balance between light and dark, some depth to the picture, large and smaller pieces. I do not know what all of the pieces are but the sun is beaming down on all of land.

Nice shape and color. I wonder what you will put in there?

Sorry I missed responding to this until now. The multiple colors bring a layered design to the picture. The closet tree is bigger than the tree in the back thus giving the picture some depth. Hope it was fun to do.

Your art skills are improving with each project to complete. Nicely glazed into a green color. This should be very useful at home.

They remind me of the koi at the Arboretum. I love it!

It sure looks like three whales swimming that are hard to find in the waters. I have not seen whales look like this before so I am curious what is the story behind these whales.

Yummy, your birthday cake for your birthday that is coming very soon, A very large cake for your many friends to have a piece and each piece will have some chocolate on the outside of the cake.

This artwork is more complex than it appears. The placement of the sun in the upper left corner is the proper location. In my opinion, that brings balance with the larger tree on the right. The shading of the purple lines from lighter to darker is a good way to bring a level of complexity to the artwork. Nice job.

The map of the United States shows me a road trip that has issues. A serious storm coming from the northeast and goes to the south. A storm moving west and goes into the southwest. The ice cream cone only makes it look cold in that area. The mountains in the west does not appear to have any snow on them.

Does this artwork represent three rocks in a dish or a mushroom that has some stuff on top of it? The three objects certainly the center of the artwork and well placed.

This must be the creature that I had dreams about. Large, full of colors, scary, and ready to eat. Your picture has so many colors that make the picture very colorful. Love it.

Gracie, for being only in second grade you appear to understand a lot about dimensions and as a result you have produced a good-looking bowl. The color choices appear to be thought out as the darkest color is in the middle. I hope you put a date on the bottom of this art. Love grandpa

This looks like a sun rising above the water. The lines show me that the sun has many layers and that the water is full of waves. The colors of both objects are connected by the colors selected.

This artwork shows what is inside your mind. Full of beautiful thoughts that need to get out and this is a very good example of your willingness to do that using your artwork.

Gracie, thank you for doing this artwork since it looks so much like me. I loved the different colors you used along with the different shapes to make this person. Your mind is so full of creative thoughts and that this is only a small example of what you possess.

Grace, your artwork is a pleasure to look at. The shading of the trunk and some of the branches represents a mind that is thinking of details for this piece of art. The picture shows a tree without leaves as it is winter. The size of the trunk is in the proper proportion to the branches. Love you.

Grace, sure do enjoy looking at your artwork. You focused on many circles and a few other types of shapes. The orange and the purple balance each other as I look at the different colors. I did notice that all of the figures are connected and are placed in a careful design.

Wow, love this artwork!!!! It has so many parts to it that I just do not know where to look. You have a sun, a lake, houses, tree, roads and people swimming. Very well thought out.

Gracie, that looks just like the fish you caught. It has all of the body parts, and it is very colorful. May be when we are at Clamshell you can catch some more fish.

I see an ice-cream cone with a chocolate scoop and a strawberry scoop. Yummy!

Love the colors and the crazy design, chaos at its best which represents a lot of what happens in a creative young mind.

I am not sure what animal this is, but I find the design very interesting. The greens and the yellows offset each other very well, the four legs are each located in the grass and the day is warm and sunny for this animal.

Grace, your artwork is very colorful, starting with the darkest color and then leaving a border of white. Color and contrast yahoooooo

I see the sun shining on Grace who is high in a tree looking over everything near her. The butterflies fly above her with the unknown darkness in the lower left corner.

Grace, I love the idea that you tried so many different shapes, lines and objects. Your buildings are most interesting since I do notice doors and windows. Your touch of randomness with other lines fills the paper with a lot to see.

I am puzzled as to what this is. I see two hearts, half moons, stars, a couple of donuts, and other stuff. This piece shows a lot of love.

Grace, my goodness, this is a wonderful 3-D piece of work. I see building, a street with yellow markings, and a sidewalk. How did you know how to do this? You sure did not get your artwork from Grandpa Mike. That is good.

Grace, I love seeing your artwork. This one has so many colors, and shapes, and patterns! Your name right in the middle because you are a star!!!
Posted 5 years ago by Susan

Each layer has a lot to say from circles equal hugs, stars to show Grace is a star, hearts to show love, then more hugs and love. The colors only accentuate the picture and its meaning. Nice job.

Well what do I say. Part of this project looks like a zebra and part looks like a horse. Well, at least it is a sunny day with blue sky. I am going to assume that the horse/zebra is happy and looking to go somewhere.

The contrast in this project is terrific! Nothing is really that distinct but that makes this project one that allows you to make your own interpretation as to what it is. Dark mystery off-set by the white.

A picture of three pine trees, that are very healthy and well cared for. The white background sure allows the trees to stand out, and the sun is very obvious.

Grace, looks like it has a lot to say. The different colors you have chosen allow me to be able to see the different parts of the bird. The bird appears to be a pretty good size and looks very healthy. Love you.

Gracie, you put a lot of thought into your art! The sweater has so many colors and patterns!

Gracie, this looks like a sweeter that has a number of lines pointing down on the selves, while at the same time you bring some thoughtful other lines that allow for a person to interpret what they may mean.

Gracie, this artwork is thoughtful, 3 dimensional and very colorful. The color choices are balanced and the spaces are filled with many symbols. Looks very good.
