Your sugar skull has some interesting shading. What do the patterns and colors remind you of?

How did you do this? Did you draw each character separately? You are so creative!

I'm interested to know how you repeated your image. I think placing them on a diagonal was a good design choice.

I like your interpretation of the flag's elements and this head-on perspective on the eagle. Its claws look ready to snatch.
Posted 7 months ago by Aunt Heather

I really like this patriotic American Eagle. It was a good idea to make it like the flag. Great job!

There is a lot of action going on in this painting! I like how you've deepened some of the colors to give dimension, and how you have given the buildings their own personalities and expressions.

Is this tic-tac-toe on steak with peppers? Inspired! This kind of playing with your food would be allowed.

I like the sense of energy this has. You chose colors and patterns that work well together.

This guy seems to be having a Terrible, Horrible, Very Bad, No Good Day--over and over again. I'm imagining what has happened to anger him so. Has his pillow burst and there are feathers flying?

David, your farm is perched on some brightly-patterned earth! Uncle Paul has uncovered some interesting rocks in at our site, but nothing like this!

I really like your farm. The barn and silo caught my attention as well as all the fields of colorful crops. You might see fields like this in Illinois in the summer. Grandma

This cat looks otherworldly. You do a nice job of depicting its movement.

This would fit right in with the brightest-colored birds in the jungle! This is a fun creation.

I like all the quirky touches in this painting--the multi-colored sky, the right arm that slides off the page and comes back into it, the window showing the interior robots, and the robot's fluid neck. This is fun!

I really like your colorful fall leaves. You picked colors for your leaves like the ones around our yard. So pretty !
Posted 3 years ago by Dawn

I like how you captured the motion of the leaves falling, and how each leaf has different shades of color. Each part of the leaf doesn't change colors at the same pace, does it?

It looks like the chameleons found a good place for sunning themselves.
Posted 3 years ago by Grandma

Looks like a comfy place for a bug to hang out! I like the tongues you've drawn.

You created interesting texture for this work, David. I think your turtle looks curious, like he's seen something interesting on the sea floor.

I really love this!!!?

Such cute birds!! Great artwork, David!

This is very impressive, David! I love it!!

I like this heart and all the colors. How did you make it?
Posted 3 years ago by Grandma Dawn

Looks like a heart full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control to me (with a few other good qualities tossed in)!

I can feel the desert heat. That is thriving cactus.

That is a riot of color blooming on the end of the limbs! Did you know Kandinsky was a lawyer before he became an artist?
Posted 4 years ago by Aunt Heather

David you did a very good job. Your tree is very similar to the trees of Kandinsky.I like the colors you chose especially the different shades of blue.
Posted 4 years ago by Grandma Dawn

You did a good job of re-creating Picasso's method of changing shapes and mixing colors.

Those birds must have been eating at my bird feeder.I especially like the yellow one coming in for a landing. I like the wispy clouds, too. Good job!

You make me happy with this artwork. It's cheerful, whimsical, colorful, and a bit silly!

It looks like cactus at a beautiful sunset. Good job!

It looks like you’ve captured a Santa Fe sunset scene. I can feel the cool desert night air.

I like this a lot especially matching the beads to the colors in the pendant (the circle). Grandma

The pattern your shoes made looks like shark's teeth and spider webs!
Posted 4 years ago by Aunt Heather

I've never seen a polar bear with floral trousers before, but he looks festive!
Posted 5 years ago by Aunt Heather

Maybe you will be able to build this snowman at Grandma’s.

Your fish is so colorful. I would like to see it in an aquarium.
Posted 5 years ago by Grandma Dawn

I love snorkeling and seeing colorful fish like this one. Here's a joke for you: Why do fish prefer to live in salt water?
Posted 5 years ago by Aunt Heather

You did a very nice job drawing this pumpkin. The shape is perfect.
Posted 5 years ago by Grandma

I think where you placed the dots helped to define the pumpkin's ridges. Kusama was a new artist to me. Thanks for introducing me to her work.

Were you inspired to create this to help the St. Louis Cardinals keep playing well?
Posted 5 years ago by Aunt Heather

Looks like Kandinsky's "Squares with Concentric Circles" to me! Nice job imitating his later painting style.

I like how colorful your monsters are. The yellow, blue, and red one looks friendly but the other one looks angry. How did you get some parts to look rough and some parts smooth?
Posted 5 years ago by Dawn

It’s interesting how these monsters are similar and how they are different. I like the curlicue antennae and the rainbow-striped horns you gave them.
Posted 5 years ago by Aunt Heather

That mouse has a really long tail. I’m glad they have their own house so I won’t find them in mine.
Posted 5 years ago by Grandma

At least that mouse is in his own house and not in mine--though I do like his corkscrew tail and his choice in roof color!
Posted 5 years ago by Aunt Heather

You did a nice job layering the different colors, David. Do you think there are pots of gold in those clouds at the ends of the rainbow?
Posted 5 years ago by Aunt Heather

I like the way you used the stamp to make bricks. I also like how you used several colors to make the grass. Grass isn't all the same color, is it?
Posted 5 years ago by Aunt Heather

Was this the inspiration for your most recent hairstyle?

I like the shaping of the snail's head. I think this one would be faster than the average snail, because he really looks alert.
