Love this! And Danica, although you said it’s not your favorite, the purple checkerboard is totally hypnotic. I feel like I’m being drawn into some crazy picnic! :) So cool!

My favorite Kalanchoe - or fuzzy panda plant. You captured the softness of the leaves so nicely in contrast to the smooth porcelain of the cup. Very nicely done!

I really love this piece! The shadow looks like it's taking over the face like sleep moving in. The soft texture of the negative space makes it come alive! Just beautiful!

Beautiful, Danica! Love your patterns and composition. Matisse is one of our favorites, too. Quin loved him soon as he heard the critics called him a wild beast. I used to move all of our hanging clothes out of the laundry room whenever Quin wanted to paint like Matisse since the results included a crazy fun painting in a room that looked like a machine gun had used it as a firing range. :) Looking forward to seeing more work!

I love this piece - Matisse is one of my faves! I kinda agree with you about the purple, but I also kind of like it. Maybe if it were a little lighter in color like the purple in the top left? A wonderful start to your art class. Bravo!
