Hi Mavis! I like your painting. I can't tell for sure what it is , but it looks like "Impressionist" style. That means the lines aren't perfect, but you get your idea across with pleasing colors. If I were guessing the subject of your painting, I would guess a scene at the lake with the lighthouse at the end of the pier. It looks like the clouds are mixing with the smoke from the powerplant. Is there a sailboat on the right side? are there black seagulls flying in the sky? are there a couple of fish in the water? It's beautiful! Let's talk about it soon. Love you! Grandpa Lee

Hey! You've got talent at sculpture! It is tough to give a statue enough base to balance the top part. It's very expressive. It wants to say something, or sing something. What do you think it would say?

Mavis, Your art looks like a very spikey volleyball. That would make a painful head shot. It also would make a beautiful Christmas ornament!

Your artwork looks very avant garde. You may have to look up that word. If it was a flower, it would win the prize. Nice work!

Hi Mavis! Grandpa Lee loves your artwork. This person looks like he (or she) is floating in the air. Is he praying? I sometimes feel like I'm floating when my prayers get intense. Love you!

Mavis, I like your painting. I like how you connect the tiles of color. It looks like a pattern left by people from outer space, perhaps to identify a landing area for space ships. Who knows?

I am glad I am the first one to see this artwork. It is like the sun is coming up on me and I can see you and your sister. What a wonderful feeling! Grandpa Lee

Mavis, your artwork would make a perfect little birdbath in my backyard. I could put it just below my statue of an oriole. The birds would be proud to use it and I would clean it every week. Maybe you could find a place to use it at your house instead. Either way it is beautiful.

Your coil pot is so pretty. I didn't learn how to do this until college! You're a lucky girl to go to such a nice school. Love, Gramma Beth

I'm not sure what it is, but it is laying on the prettiest table that I have seen in forty years.

I love this Mavis! You are so good for a third grader! A fox, a bear, a butterfly, a turtle, and a wolf. What an active forest! And the trees are so beautiful with snow on their branches and the moonlight reflecting off them. I hope you get a good grade for this one! Grandpa Lee

Mavis, you're a shining star no matter where you are. Shining bright to see what you could truly be. I think it's beautiful, just like you.
