love the bright colors and bits of story embedded in each figure... your work never ceases to amaze

This orca is very cool. How big is it? And exactly what is it made from. Some type of fabric, but what is inside to give it the form. Sorry to be so detail oriented, just the designer in me speaking. Much love, and admiration for your artistic talent.

i love the colors on this one... not to mention the placement and the composition. I'd sure like to taste a passion fruit on such a cold day
Posted 3 months ago by Martha (fan)
nice work. Great that you are learning new techniques and working in different media. Definitely growing. Seeya soon.

Very cool. Or actually very hot.

So evocative... quite extraordinary

Very cool. I really like these 3D exercised you are doing. Always interesting to draw or sculpt using your left hand as a model. Nicely done.
Posted 2 years ago by Abuelo David
I love the dimensionality you’ve created. So much depth and movement. Really eye catching!
Posted 2 years ago by Sarah
How did you do this? So is this a drawing OR is this a sort of sculpture where a hand sculpture or your hand is placed under a painted piece of cloth or paper... query from your least artistic fan (smile)
Posted 2 years ago by Martha S
Interesting, difficult to look at. Would really be neat with some color or shading. It’s like 2D/3D, optical illusion. Would like to hear about it from you.
Posted 2 years ago by AbueloDavid
i love what you are doing with dimensions, depth perception and shades of gray1
Posted 2 years ago by Martha S
Optical Illusion, Cool. Well Done
Posted 2 years ago by Abuelo David
Wow, David. This is so alive and full of motion. The light and dark gives it depth as well. Well done!!
Posted 2 years ago by Sarah
Neat, looks like weaving, very dimensional. Is that regular pencil or charcoal?
Posted 2 years ago by Abuelo David
What an interesting piece. How did you come to create it? Tell me more
Posted 2 years ago by Martha
That is a very cool piece of abstract art, David. Very original!
Posted 2 years ago by Sarah
thank you for that explanation.. as your least artistic fan i needed help with the theme. I'm appreciating the judicious use of blues and greens, as well as the whimsical elements and the satire.
Posted 2 years ago by Martha S
Lots going on there, and much humor. I especially liked the fish in the life preserver.
Posted 2 years ago by Abuelo David
Both a cup AND a sculpture. Beautiful colors, and the contrasting green handle is a lovely touch
Posted 3 years ago by Martha S
Love the shape and glazes!
Posted 3 years ago by Sarah (fan)
Very cool, nice hand building, and beautiful colors. Is it functional?
Posted 3 years ago by Abuelo David
did you make the actual stuffy based on the art or is this a picture with an example of the picture being turned into a stuffy?
Posted 3 years ago by Martha
Great to see what you're up to, David! Love the stuffie.
Posted 3 years ago by Sarah (fan)
I didn't know that you were an avid video gamer! you really did get those fingers just right.. worth the work... and i love you connecting 2 seemingly different sets of interest. Thanks for sharing

Posted 3 years ago by Martha
I really like that you have added your thoughts to your work, David. You are becoming quite the artist! This is great!
Posted 3 years ago by Lael
Cool concept, and I like your thoughts. The hands and thumbs are well done, and from my own experience I know how difficult that can be to get them right. Keep up the good work. Maybe darker lines, a little shading and a little color, though I think you said this is a rough sketch. Hugs to you
Posted 3 years ago by David
Another beautiful painting! I particularly appreciate the sky, the water and the perspective. Thanks for sharing it with me

Love this rock art. It's so appealing and graceful.
Posted 4 years ago by Sarah
I love this new work, and its careful, subtle use of stones. Was it influenced by your trip to Japan this summer? So happy to see new art from you
Posted 4 years ago by Martha
This is fantastic. beautiful and really, really well done. I love the way you arranged different sized stones as you proceeded around a perfect spiral. Have you ever heard of Fibronacci ratios, because that is what your spiral reminds me of. Very sophisticated, we studied that stuff, but when I was in college. If you have a moment, e-mail me, I would love to hear more about this piece.
Posted 4 years ago by Abuelo David
It is beautiful, reminds me of the Taino spiral I wear.
Posted 4 years ago by Nydia

Wow! I had not seen any of your sketches before! I do love this guy-- realistic and yet a complete fantasy creature. Cool!
Posted 4 years ago by Martha
That is really, really impressive. Did you use a model, or something from a book? I particularly like the claw, and the detail around the eye. Is it a turkey vulture (my guess) or a bird you made up?
Posted 4 years ago by Zaydie
