Savannah, this is fabulous. Your sun shining on those planets makes my heart sing! The composition is great - full, yet not busy, the color scheme is lively, and your planets look like they have secrets to be revealed!! This may be my favorite of all your artwork so far! I would boldly take my starship to your solar system!

This is a very creative idea! I've looked through keyholes before but never saw anything this beautiful on the other side! Very lovely color choices and an interesting perspective on your landscape. Beautiful work, Savannah!

Bold design, Savannah! Nice balance between your central figure and star accents. Good composition! You could be a graphic designer someday!!

This was beautifully done! When I owned my weaving shop in Atlanta, I came out to Colorado to take a weaving class from a famous Native American weaver, Ramona Sakiestewa. (In fact, I was pregnant with your mom for that trip!) I like your weaving project a lot. Lovely colors and patterns and your selvedges (side edges) are very straight for some one who just learned how to weave! A lot of artists choose fiber as their favorite medium to work in - it is what I would choose - so I am glad you had this chance to try it at school. Maybe we can do a weaving project together someday. Even Papa enjoyed it when he wove some placemats for his mom!

This has got to be Charlotte's Web!! I think your spider is magnificent!!! You know how much I appreciate spiders. Wilbur is quite perfect, too. Wonderful sky you made. I like the ratio of blue to white - very realistic and does not take away from your main characters. Lovely job!

Great Pumpkin!!! You know how much I love pumpkins and this one is beautiful! Vibrant colors in the pumpkin and background make this a standout piece of artwork from my favorite artist - you! Orange and blue, purple and yellow - just lovely, Sweetie.

What a fabulous job you did, Sweetie!! This really looks like a professional still life. I am so impressed by how realistic your apple looks. You have really improved your skills in the past year. Your light and shadows are spot on! I'm glad I have not finished my quilt of your artwork because this may have to be in the center!!

The horse looks so graceful running wild and free. Your air brush skills are looking super. Keep it up!

Very well done close-up of the horse's face. Again your background is not so busy that it takes away from your subject, nice color choices!!

I love your color choices for the background. They really make your horse come alive. It looks like the wind is blowing his mane as he gallops over the ground. Very expressive!!

This is one of the funniest pictures I have ever seen! Love that you gave them the same expression. So different but so the same.

Snow globe and gnome - nothing says winter like those two things! Lovely job on both of them! Really like your gnome's hat and the detail inside the snow globe. Snowman has a great expression on his face!!

Looks like that bunny, fox, and mouse want to stay warm inside the mitten! Pretty mitten!! Hope those first two let the poor little mouse inside. Your drawing makes me feel cold!! You did a good job making a cold, snowy scene. Love your little owl in the tree, too. Nice details and good job using color!

This is quite nice, Savannah! I love the shapes and color choices. It looks like a quilt to me! Kandinsky is the artist in one of the books I got you for Christmas. Maybe someday we'll be reading about you!!

Beautiful cardinal, Savannah! You have his colors exactly right. We had a lot of them in our yard when your mom was your age. They would fly onto the pine tree branches in our backyard and make sure it was safe before coming to our bird feeder! It looks like you have your cardinal in a pine tree, too! Very nicely done, Sweetie!

Love your cat, Sweetie. Is he thinking about a bird or does he have a bird that landed between his ears?! You showed a lot of detail with just a few lines. Nice work! I especially love her little nose.

What a wonderful drawing, Savannah! Looks just like Pan - our favorite stuffed animal!!

Oh, Savannah, your panda is wonderful!!! It reminds me of “Pan,” your stuffed panda that you greeted every morning at my house when you were a little girl. He is even holding bamboo! Nice detail on your panda fur and bamboo stalks. Very well done paws and face. I may have to get a shirt or tote bag of this drawing. It’s great!

Your moose looks ready to play! All he needs is somebody to play with and a ball. Good attention to details. Lovely colors and fun subject!

Your dogs in the pet store window are very cute. You made all their faces look like they are saying, "Pick me! I want to go home with you today!" You made them all very different and very colorful! Nice work!
Posted 6 years ago by Bugs (fan)

What a fun drawing! You made a great expression on that face. You can see him thinking, "Why is he climbing up my side?!" The 2 little climbers are well done. The one on the ground looks like he just figured out what the other guy is climbing up. Very expressive!
Posted 6 years ago by Bugs (fan)

How scary! Nice job on showing the people in the house looking scared. I would be, too! Your dinosaur looks really scary with his eyes close together and set an angle. Showing his teeth also adds to his scariness and, of course, how big he is next to the house makes those people really afraid! Nice drawing. You showed a lot of feeling with just a few lines!!

Wonderful drawing! You chose beautiful colors for your birds.

Your mother and baby birds are beautiful, Savannah!! They look just like the mama birds feeding their babies on the tree in my yard. The babies follow the moms from branch to branch just like in your artwork. They squawk and make all sorts of loud noises until the mom comes up near them then they stretch up their necks and wait for mom to deliver the goodies. Your drawing is very realistic in this picture and makes me smile. That is what good art does - it makes the person looking at it feel good. Nicely done, Sweetie!

Wow! Did you know we had the "Wave" on our wall when we were first married? Excellent, I like yours just as much. How can I get a copy? -Papa
Posted 6 years ago by Papa (fan)

Savannah, I LOVE it !!! I spent several years looking at a copy of Hokusai's Wave in silk hanging on our wall from about the time I was 8 until I was 13. My mother, Rae, loved it and it was one of her favorite pieces of art. It is a wonderful interpretation on your part. I love how your wave looks alive and the way it shows how massive the sea is compared to the people who would be in those boats. They are braver and have stronger stomachs than I. Nice work from MY favorite artist.
