Nice use of many coloured washes give a bright happy springtime effect. I especially like the lop ear that clearly says bunnies should not try to wear hats.

Niko: I really love this piece of painting. Color combination is very nice! Well done! Goopo

That is very classy. It is very precisely rendered and at first glance one could mistake for the work of a professional commercial artist. It has great balance around that beautiful “O”. (Perhaps if the “I” were not so fat, my favourite letter could have had a little more prominence . . . just saying.

It would be interesting to put all the self portraits you have done over the years side by side to see the changing ways you see yourself. The washes in the background are especially lovely in the way they flow. Is the shattered face a result of being a collage? The digital version does not reveal the mystery, a fascinating effect nevertheless.

Love the sunset! The reflection in the clouds adds a nice sense of realism.

To me, it has a very cool looking crystalline structure. Good stuff :)

Niko: I hope you will look at some books that have pictures of medieval manuscripts. You will see how much your work looks like the large first letters on each page resemble your work, especially the “S”. You really have succeeded in accomplishing the goal of the assignment in creating a real catalog of your interests.

What a master piece ! Well done Nikolas. I'm proud of you. ??, ????!??‘???‘?????????’’

The flowing boundaries between the coloured bands give an illusion of the work being a piece of fabric from the southwestern states. Also I like the downward progression as the curves flatten out giving a sense of settling until the green quite literally leaks ot the bottom.

Nana found a photograph in the sports news that reminded her so much of your self portrait .It is of a tennis player serving the ball. I will send you a copy of the picture. The shadow and light give a similar impression to your painting. Love seeing your art work.

This a lovely self portrait that captures the thoughtful sensitive nature of the subject while being faithful to his physical appearance as well.

It is you! Love the colours :)

Your drawing reminds Nana of the big book of skyscrapers you brought home from the library. The central building in this drawing towers way above the others and looks very tall indeed. Perhaps it is the tallest skyscraper in the world and will “tickle the sun while the stars go by.” Ha ha isn’t imagination a wonderful thing. The quote is from the poem Skyscraper by Denis Lee

Nana and her daughter were out shopping and we found a crochet kit with yarn included. She made hats for your family. Your hat painting reminds me of all the wintery fun you can have in Portland. A soft lovely wash gives your painting a delicate effect. Well done dear one.

I am so glad to see your portfolio. Up to now I have only seen one or two of your works. I think CARE speaks to how you go about creating.

This is a spectacular piece of art for its simplicity. It is pretty much what one would describe as minimalist in that with very few lines it manages to be complete. By the way, I’m crazy about bears.

The way you used black gives real impact to your art work and by using different colours dabbled together adds a texture.
