This is a truly impressive painting. I love the way the two dichromatic trees exalt themselves in front of one of nature's most magnificent displays, a brilliant multicolored sunset. The message to strive and rise upward hearkens to New York State's own motto, "Excelsior", and makes me wonder if this was a study of your own environment. The lofty and daring message is tethered to the ground with fantastic shading and shadow work. Dare I say it's...rather good.
