Great drawing, Grady! I like the colors especially. Is this a particular person? Love, Poppy

Hey Grady, This is a really detailed piece of art! Did you use colored pencils or pastels? I think I need to have you explain it to me. I'm not very good at understanding art! I love how the face really looks real. Like a real face. I think it's hard to capture faces without a camera, but you managed! Well done buddy! Next time we are together I'd love to have you explain this drawing to me and to hear what the assignment was. Mrs. Crosswhite is so creative and fun. I'm so glad all three of you kiddos got to have her for art class. . She really knows her stuff. Keep up the good work, Grades! Love you, Nana Jane

Grady, Love your artwork!! It’s such a fun piece with bright colors and a great message!! Love to know how you came up with the “Dinosaurs Love Bacon”!! A nod to KU I see with the basketball and colors! Keep up your creative work!!

Grades, this is really clever and funny! Well done Buddy! I love that the orange background is a basketball and that it's a GOAT for Greatest of All Time! Very creative. I'm curious what the assignment was. Kaitlin Clark is great at basketball and you are great at art (and also basketball, baseball, soccer and football and reading and math and writing!!) Well done Buddy. Keep up the good work. Love, Nana Jane

Hey Grades, It was fun to talk to you in person (yay, you're in Tacoma!) last night. I was interested in knowing whether you or your art teacher chose the words next to the shoes. You told us she did, and then you made art that matched the word. We really liked that idea and you did an awesome job of following the words. It's funny how our brains work by actually seeing the object vs. trying to remember it! Looks like that big brain of yours is working very well. But we already knew that! Love you! Nana Jane

That is really cool Grady! Fun colors too! I don’t see the photos so you’ll have to tell me about that. It’s always a good skill to learn how to take a good photo!! Great work buddy! Love you!

Hi Grades, This is a really fun piece of artwork. Don't you love getting new school supplies each year before school starts? I love brand new unbroken crayons! And new markers that aren't all dried out!! I like how you used crayons for part of the frame and then glue sticks at the bottom of the frame. Very clever! Were you supposed to imitate an artist who did flat lay artwork?? Remember that book we have of all the things before and then after--when all the separate pieces were laid out by color or shape on the opposite page? I think it's called The Art of Clean Up. This reminds me of that. Well done buddy! Love, Nana Jane

The grapefruit slice makes my mouth pucker. I love the colors, especially the different co;ors in the different sections. Really a striking design! Grady has the eyes of an artist! John

Hey Grady, This color combination is so pleasing. It looks like a slice of ruby red grapefruit to me. I can almost taste it! I love the variation in your colors from dark red to pink. Well done buddy!

I love this piece and I loved the woven piece I saw several weeks ago. If I had Grady's talent and the guidance of his amazing art teacher, I'd probably be living in Paris right now and living from my art work. A friend of mine who teachers art to school kids talks a lot about developing "art eyes" in her students. Grady has clearly already got art eyes.

Of course your colors for this project are red and yellow!!! The Chief colors!! It looks awesome! It was fun to see you working on it at home! Keep up the fun creative work Grady!!! Love you, Nana Nanc

Grades! This is such a cool piece of art, and I think I know why you chose the colors you did! Go CHIEEEEFS! It looks like you learned to weave with yarn, and then did you paint the rest? Did you paint first, and then weave? You really matched the colors well. I think they call it mixed media when you use two or more kinds of materials in an art piece. Looks like a fun project and you nailed it Buddy! Well Done! Love, Nana Jane

Grady I love your new artwork!! Mahomes is so happy….on a swing!! Keep up your good work! Go Mahomes and go Chiefs!! Love you!! Nana

Grades, This was so creative to make yourself look like one of your hometown heroes! Maybe someday you will be a famous athlete--soccer??Baseball??Football?? Basketball?? You are good at all of those. It's fun to try them all out so you can find the one you like the best. I think you said so far it's football. The red and yellow background is very chief-like! And then you must have photoshopped your head onto Mahommes's body. Very clever. Is there a name for that? I remember that you once got a Mahommes haircut at Glorias salon! Love you Buddy!

Grades, This butterfly is so colorful and I think it even has a smile on it's face. I love the curly antennas too. IS this done in plaster or some other claylike material? You continue to be a great artist, Buddy! Keep it up! Love Nana Jane
