I think this is one of my favorite pictures you've done! You do a lot of great work but there's something about this one that just seems special.

What a nice little succulent garden. Did you draw this from memory or did your teacher have some cactus your class could look at while they draw? Your pot is really cool too!

Wow, this looks like it took a lot of time! I like how the shapes of the boxes make it look like the heart is jumping off the page!

I love cardinals. They seem like a Christmas bird. Papa and I have cardinals on our Christmas tree. If you had done this earlier I would have used it for my Christmas card this year! Maybe I will still do it next year. Excellent job Mia. Love, Mima

I like this girl's eyes. Or I should say EYE. I also like how you have her hat going over the one eye. She looks like she knows a good joke.

I was so excited to see your drawing of Christmas trees on mittens! I like it so much I'm ordering Christmas cards to mail out with this design on them. Don't you wish you could have a pair of mittens just like these? I know I do!

I think when I was in art class in school they called this kind of painting "still life". That's because plants and fruits and vegetables are "alive" but they don't move. That makes them good things to paint, doesn't it? These apples look good enough to eat!

So many things in this painting! The pumpkin makes you think of fall. Is that leaves falling? Is that the moon and some stars? These are all things you would see when you go trick or treating, aren't they?!?!

Do you know what this makes me think of? It makes me think of all the good times we had last summer on Mackinac Island because the word mackinac means "great turtle" and sometimes Mackinac Island is called Great Turtle Island. Did you know that? You do now!

I loved your turkey picture. It's snowing in Traverse City today and I've been thinking about the holidays a lot. Your colorful picture really helps to put a person in the Thanksgiving mood. Great job Mia!
