I just viewed this beautiful work of art in person. This photo doesn’t do it justice! To think that only a colored pencil was used to create this- amazing!

Madelyn, Grandpa will love seeing your drawing of Uncle Jared's jersey. I'll bet Uncle Jared is smiling down from heaven seeing it too. Do you think he has an angel gown with his Highlands/UK # 22 or his NY Giants # 13? Love, Nana

Madelyn, interesting beautiful background. I’m trying to figure out if you drew the dark blue squiggle lines first or the circles?

Madelyn, this jellyfish picture reminds me of the ocean and the trip grandpa and I are taking with your family to the beach -- leaving the day after school ends!!! I sure hope we don't see any jellyfish ... especially one the looks like yours. Colorful animals are usually poisonous. Good job! Love, Nana

Madelyn, I love the branches! And I'm so glad you called it The Wish Tree! I've already made my wish!
Posted 4 years ago by Diane
I was never very good at drawing faces, but it looks like you are! I love the happy expression and the colors you use. This picture makes me smile!! Love, Nana
Posted 4 years ago by Nana
The branches in your tree look like a dragon to me -- I noticed your note in the corner "The Wish Tree" so I'm thinking you read that book and a dragon was involved with granting wishes. I'm sorry if that's not correct, but I enjoyed looking at the artwork and wondering about "The Wish Tree." Maybe you can explain it to me when I see you. Love, Nana

Madelyn, this is an impressive piece of art that I'm sure took you a long time to complete. When I was in grade school, one of my favorite study lessons was memorizing the State Capitols. Your artwork reminded me of that and made me smile. Great work! Love, Nana

This looks like a vehicle . . . maybe an Amazon delivery van!! I have one of those at my house every week. Love seeing the sun peaking out in the corner. I miss the sun!! Love, Nana

I agree with your comment, Madelyn, that you could make more details on the face . . . such as, eyelashes, eye color, eyebrows. Of course, you know, I'd love to see her have curly hair!!!!!! Well done. Love, Nana

Madelyn, it's interesting that we are not the "State of Kentucky" -- we are the "Commonwealth of Kentucky." Did you know that the person on the left is a pioneer and it is thought that it is Daniel Boone who first explored Kentucky? I'm interested to talk to you about this artwork. Love, Nana

I can’t wait to drink my next cup of coffee in your amazing cup! I love the shape/size of the handle!

Madelyn, how exciting -- a pottery piece! This looks like a coffee cup. I hope you had fun making it! Love, Nana

Madelyn, The shape of your clouds mimic the shape of your flowers and I find that very pleasing to look at -- they look very fluffy. The blue skies, puffy white clouds, sunshine and flowers are soon going to be replaced by gray skies, dark clouds, dreary days and dead flowers as we go into winter. Your picture is a good reminder of what we have to look forward to. Love, Nana

Madelyn, you have captured one of the cutest details of your home -- the design in the window panes. That is one of my favorite design elements in your home. My new kitchen cabinets are going to be very similar to the color of your house! Love, Nana
