I like that there isn’t a need to for all of the eyes to be consistent symmetrically. It feel exploratory, inquiring. I also get that the eyes are not looking at me. They are looking to the side. Not sure how or why you did that, but it it apparent, whether intentional or not, something to note for future endeavors.

Oh, great joy working with clay. I'm guessing that this piece is slab built, rather than wheel thrown or coiled, but the base is interesting and curious, maybe a coil? Nice effect. Fun little hearts.

This is a fascinating piece and reminds me, in a micro kind if way, of the favalas acrocc the way when we were in Rio. Love the different angles and shapes of the buildings, and really quite impressive that you accomplished this in watercolors. Darling snakes. Nana

Visually very interesting. Right from viewing the email with picture made me think “what is that”, my curiosity was up. I get your comment about water colors, could never get a handle on them. Are you going to experiment more with the burning?

The "Commissioned Walls" series is a really fabulous means of artfully presenting the fundamental values of your school community. Creative, beautiful and fun. I applaud the school for its concept and you for your representation of the values. Lovely.

Letters being space differently certainly could be done, but I don’t find it distracting as a veiwer. One small thing that makes a big difference is the the dark line around the letters. Without they could bleed into the surrounding color fields and lose their impact. Nicely done.

Lila,

This is so well done it should be framed or made into a poster.?
Beautiful work, Liles.

Love, Nama

regarding your comment about the orange dots, they don't bother me except for the one next to his nose and the one by his chin. like the overall composition, use of space, relationship of images to the edges. interesting variation of the position of the black "bubble" where it crossed out the picture at the top but doesn't on the left; creates a tension well done.

a very iconic Japanese print. Did you know that Japanese prints of this era didn't use perspective to create depth. Depth was created by placing one thing in front of the other. You might have fun researching, looking at other prints of this time. Nicely done.

Lila, I continue to be impressed by your creative artwork. You’ve learned about using shades of color for dimension and your waves are realistic and beautiful……of course I think the hearts add a touch of love

I love the waves and reference to a sense of peace. I'm imagining this barrel being a part of a drumming circle producing rhythmic meditative drumming. Lovely.

the use of negative (reverse) images in top left and bottom right is an other type of contrast to the positive images. Is there intent using this technique? Are you commenting about yourself or is this about creative artistry. Or both perhaps??? In either event, it gets the viewer involved and interested. Congrats. Well done.

Interesting piece. I don't see comments about the process, but it appears to be printmaking, a fascinating process. I like the colors and the interesting multi-directional images. A nice range of self-portraits you have.

You’re getting great experience doing many different areas of artwork! I knew it was you and, of course , a big SMILE I LIKE THE COLOR CHOICES. You are talented in many ways??

This makes me think of the forest fires in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and very possibly the rain forest fires in Brazil, when the fires affect the ozone layers, but the skies are intense pink and wonderful. I suppose a bit of a silver lining from a tragic event. I like the perspective with the tree in the foreground.

Wow. You should send this one to the Brothers at Ruamradee! They'll go bananas. Very fun!

Fascinating rendition of the eye...I like the use of the light reflecting...very alive and realistic. Funny coincidence...Pops and I both have eye doctor appointments today! Artistic synchronicity :)

Cool. I just printed it so it can be included in our Dia de los Muertos alter at Urban Mud. So your art will be on exhibit in the Gallery! Gracias.

I love the over-powering moon and that the building looks like a church with all those spirits flying about. And truly the ghosts appear to be happy!

Wonderful. This could be a self-portrait? Maybe a series with different colored hair? Definitely a personal style to the art, and this will be added to my “Lila collection” over the past years. Thank you for sharing your art.
