William, I’m impressed by your ability to create 3-D drawings of many shapes. Great job!

Hi, William! See if your mom or dad can put a star app on your phone? or theirs. You can look at the skies with the phone and see planets--really cool! I like your starts and planets--nice job of shading to make them look 3-D! I miss you!!! Grandma Carole

Hey, William! I like your shiny clay turtle. His shell is beautiful—gleaming with unexpected blue on browns and oranges! I also like his little eyes— he’s cute! Grandma K

Hey, Will--I loved this art piece so much, I bought it--now it's a magnet on my refrigerator! Love the blue background--and the yellow at the bottom. Colors bring life to a cold, gray February! Love, Grandma K

Hi, Will--Grandma K here. I love this little penguin. His face is so sweet as he looks out over the water. He looks lonely--as if waiting for a good friend to show up. He also could be sad because the icebergs are melting and he and his artic animal friends are in trouble. Great picture which could go into a book--if you want to write about him. Give him a name--he's precious!

Hi, Will--I like your latest creation on a 3-dimensional surface. I'd like to rub my hand over the creature! I also like the colors of your monster rabbit?! Love, Grandma K

Hi, William...It's Grandma K! I love the idea of painting a sunprint in January--February--coldest time of the year! Your creativity is apparent because your sun has a face--with eyes, nose, and rectangle mouth--It looks like an American Indian sun with its triangle beams. The yellow rays are not where I would expect them to be (great!). I also like the changing background with hot reds and pinks. Your geometric shapes add a lot because the sun isn't just a circle. Great Job!!

I really like this, Will! It makes me shiver to look at the frozen lake, the pointy arrows of a pine tree and that sharp tops of the mountains!! Brrr! Great job of capturing the cold.

Hi! I love the October- November painting with pumpkins— and turkey feathers— a bright sun rising. It’s happy with bright earth tones and makes me think of Halloween and Thanksgiving! Miss you, Grandma K

Hi, Will!! I like the way you used construction paper cut-outs to show the hot, warm, and then cool colors the farther you get from the sun! This spring weather has been HOT (last weekend) and cold (the last few days). Can't wait for the warm to return and stick around! Love, Grandma K Enjoy bike riding in the warm days and evenings to come!

Hey, William- I really like this: I like how the waves loom over what could be a sailboat--So I'm scared for the people in it. But I don't think you'd draw that. Is it a snow-capped mountain in the background? The waves also remind me of a huge monster with serpents' tails!! Finally, I like the contrasting shapes--the curly waves breaking, the circle of the sun?moon?, and in the distance, the triangle mountain. You know I love the colors--blues, greens and yellow and mauve. Great!!!!

Hey, Will--You know I like this painting because I have a magnet of it on my refrigerator! Love the sky--the purple above and the beautiful blue-green paint around the teepee, then the brown mountains in the background. The teepee is at the center--and I like how tall it is, reaching high into the purple sky. I also like the the symbols on the teepee--do they mean anything? You really play with color--the that is the best part, for me. Love, Grandma K

Hey, William--this art looks like an Indian map with symbols for mountains, lightening, teepees, with smoke rising over them, maybe a snake or a river above the blue circles. I like how you made the map look as if it's on deer hide, with the blue line all around the edges! You have camped so I bet you liked creating this scene. Have fun drawing and creating! Love, Grandma K

Dear William, Grandma K, here. First I am drawn by the colors you chose in this piece. I love blue, you know, so my favorite parts are the blue tablecloth and the teal shape. The colors complement each other, so this art makes me feel relaxed and calm. Very nice, William!! Love, Grandma K

Hey, William! Grandma K, here! First, I notice the hearts--which make me think of you because you're a kind, loving young man. Next I notice the shapes--a rectangle being bumped by a heart and triangles, and ovals. Then the colors--the purple stands out and the blue spider-webby in the square. This art looks as if you really enjoy art and love to express yourself! Bye, William!

Will— I like this so much, I just bought a postcard to send you! I like looking down on the fish. They look like a mom and her son circling each other— in a dance in the blue waves!! Bravo, William!!!

Hey, Will. I’d like to know more about your drawing— it’s not you, I don’t think— although I love the blue eyes—It is someone from far away— a darker-skinned man— with a beard of some sort. I don’t know why you separated the top of his face from the bottom: a Covid mask which the man isn’t wearing correctly?! As an English teacher, I see a man with two feelings— he isn’t at peace— maybe he is one way to himself and another way to others! Maybe you can tell me about your drawing on the phone. Love you, William. Grandma Kossoris

Hey, William! I love your Snowman at night! ( I really like that book!!) You did a great job: this is what I like: the black sky with big white flakes! His red earmuffs! His coal mouth — which isn’t a smile like most snowmen’s; the deeper blue at the bottom of his base, the body, the head. His carrot nose is bright. He looks like he’s waiting for someone to play with!!! Love, Grandma K

I really like the bright colors and different shapes in your picture. You repeat dots red and blue— very cool. And you have different colored arches and straight lines. Bravo for creating a bold and bright painting!

The sun floats in the blue sky— was this watercolor? I love how the colors are soft and I like the white in the sky too! Is that a wheat field behind your scary scarecrow? Your matching dress and hat are cool—Great job!!!
