It's difficult to draw and have the outcome look natural and realistic. I think you are taking the right approach! Darken outlines you like and add shading in difficult areas. Keep up the great work!!!

Ya know, this would be perfect for Halloween. Have you considered making a costume to go with the mask? Plague doctors used wooden canes to examine patients because they didn't want to touch them. You could design a cane as part of your ensemble. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
