Hannah, Yesterday I saw the poster you created of your Arts Academy magnet school on Facebook. It blew me away. I loved the unique ways you represented each of the concentrations at the Arts Academy. I loved the bright colors. I loved the movement in it. I loved the face with its Third Eye. Today I received your latest piece of art, and I love it, too. It is very different from other art work you've created. I feel serene when I look at it. You have a gift of getting out of your way when you create art. I love that you use so many different subjects in your art work. Your next piece of art always surprises and delights me. You were born to be an artist, and your art brings so much joy into my life.

Hannah, I would so love to display this in my home. The eyes of the woman here just draw me in. I could look at her for hours, wondering what she's feeling, sensing her sadness, but also her strength. And the flower designs in the foreground are perfect somehow!

Hannah, this is Judy, your grandmother's good friend. I love the unique portraits you do that are very evocative. It's been exciting watching you develop your talent.

Hello Hannah! I am a Freshman at Platteville High School in Platteville, WI. My Artsonia ID is Rebecca8735. Wow! This really is a gorgeous drawing! The red background beautifully contrasts the yellow and skin tones. The proportions, especially of the hands, are also super impressive! The heavy shadows add some nice drama. This piece is very thought provoking in a way I can’t quite describe. I would probably wear this on a shirt if given the choice. Seriously cool! If I can give you any advice, keep expressing yourself artistically. You have loads of potential :))

Love this, especially the highlights and shading! You’ve made it possible for me to almost feel the texture (I’m imagining a soft, fleshy succulent). What a pleasure to view your art!

I really appreciated the artist’s comments! Hurray for recognizing human complexity and the likelihood of hidden worlds inside each of us. Love the exaggerated colors here. Do you know the work of Freida Kahlo?

This makes me think of van Gogh’s “Starry Night”—great company!

What a perfect introduction to the winter holidays! The snow-covered trees struck me as particularly skillful. In addition, the way you evoked mounds of snow using blue surprised and delighted me. Who knew that the effect of snow is captured that way (except artists like you, of course??)??

The execution here is breathtaking--especially the way you created a sense of depth and volume. I feel as if I could poke a finger inside the skeleton or into the houses. Equally impressive is the meaning suggested here. I love the idea of life (the tree) coming from death. It also occurs to me that the tree has to die before it can be transformed into houses (places for the living)--that old endless cycle.
