This project gave you some great results in the size and design of the petals. You created a sense of texture as well with the variance in light and dark. Happy to see you back in art!

I love this vignette! Nice line and relaxed feel of the sail. Does the clock say time to go sailing?

This frog was so cute. Origami was popular in our house the summer we had 2 Japanese girls (ages 8 and 12) live with us. ????

This concept was new to me. I learned that it is an art therapy that helps people to meditate or relax. Your piece was calming to me with the soft colors and gentle movement.

Wow, Lottie, this was so cool. I love your idea and how you carried it out. Where was the beach?

You have been creative producing all this artwork from the comic book drawings, hero, the animal (I liked the combination) to this piece. I love these blue flowers and that you painted them over a sheet of music - very clever!
Posted 5 years ago by Margrethe
This reminds me of the heart of lights I see sometimes as I drive close to my home. Whenever I see the heart lit up, I feel encouraged and happy. I'm thinking that that was what you may have had in mind when creating this piece......giving a feeling of encouragement and HOPE to others. :)

I love it! I enjoy music so very much & love flowers.....what a peaceful piece of art to look at. Thanks for the beauty.

Well done, Lottie, in capturing the essence of Earth Day. I remember the very first Earth Day 50 years ago on April 22, 1970. I was a senior in college and the only sign I saw on campus was on a yellow writing tablet page done in pencil saying “Happy Earth Day”. It was above the drinking fountain in the library. Times have changed.

What a clever at-home assignment for creating a color wheel. ??

How cool that you had a live model! Jack-Jack has his eye on us. I do like how you created his fur.

Oh, I like this one, especially the blue clouds. I wonder what the girl is thinking.

Absolutely amazing! This painting of Fuzzy looks almost identical to Fuzzy. Simply amazing! Thank you for sharing your talent!

Your art is fantastic! Keep at it...

Nice sample! And, does it look like Minnesota there on the bottom?

Oh, my heart! All the Brush Family loves this sweet memory of Fuzzy. They have it framed in their living room. xoxo

This perhaps took a long time to make all the little bits growing up the "C"!

Springtime is here! These flowers seem to be near the water... let's go find some outside today!

Lottie, this is meaningful to me as it seems to show people in their own spaces, which is how we all are during this time of quarantine! Your observation of what different people may be doing is poignant. I like the circled focal point, and the quietness of the overall piece!

Wonderful depiction of the coots! I love birds of all kinds, and I think it's neat how you showed the dramatic change as the coot ages.

What a creative piece of pottery, Lottie! I seriously am considering going to an art studio near my condo to learn how to make pottery, be instructed in other art techniques, and to simply have some fun! :) You are an inspiration.
Posted 5 years ago by Holly
How striking this piece is with the black background. Did you like working with the clay? Neat design on the outside.
Posted 5 years ago by Margrethe
I so liked how you illustrated “note” - very clever and artistic!

You could be a great illustrator of a children’s cookbook, Lottie.

Very pretty, Lottie! What a delight! :)

Lottie this was a good one. Got to see your work in progress at home and the finished project. Looks great????

I learned something new that a “pinxter” flower is a rhododendron. One can sense the 3-dimensional texture with the paper pieces. I like the pink and purple colors and that you outlined some of those pieces. Well done!
Posted 5 years ago by Margrethe
for me it looks like the objects are glassware of different sizes/shapes/colors/designs and they are all catching light in different ways... very cool.. as usual..

I love how the colors flowwwwww together! Is that a cityscape?

Another gorgeous work of art, Lottie! Just wonderful....I feel as though I'm there with you, riding the horse....how fun.

I like the crackly look - how did you do that?

The simple thought for me is this: I come walking into a room a dark room, and this skelton is peaking around the corner at me, just looking - with a pomp-poom in its ear, nice twist. YIKES!!!
Posted 6 years ago by paul
I like the pompom, which seems to disarm the skeleton and make it less scary! And, was the real skeleton smiling? Very nice shading.
Posted 6 years ago by Ashlyn (Mother)
Lottie, this is a great exercise! Were both of the faces done without looking at the paper?
Posted 6 years ago by Ashlyn (Mother)
I so appreciated your description of this painting - very reflective. I felt I was feeling the wind as well. Margrethe

Lottie! I love this image that tells your story. The storm clouds in the distance add a uniqueness to this painting. Did you use water colors? (-EJ)

Hi Lottie, i like the colors in this latest work of yours. Course, i do like landscapes too. I'm wondering how you came up with the basic layout? is the scene based on a photo? or somewhere you have been? Or is it more or less just from your imagination.......for example, you knew you wanted water/trees/mountains....and went on from there. Great Work! paul and sue

This is such a cool website to post your artwork. I enjoyed seeing your smiling face and the heart in your self-portrait. You’ll have to tell me about the separated piece. Is that because part of your heart would love to go back to Mankato, MN? ??
Posted 6 years ago
hi Lottie, this is going to be fun to look at what you create. As i look at your self-portait, and read your comments. It makes me wonder if i had the assignment what i would say about myself, and what would i put down on paper...hmmm.. looking forward to following your work! paul
