Hi Mira Are you studying the art work of Amadeus Clemente Modigliani? His faces and necks were very elongated and stylized like your portrait. I like the way you used a single line like a backward z to represent the nose and left eyebrow. The beautiful color gradations of the background, really make your figure "pop".

Mira, the colors in your painting blend beautifully. I can see the school of fish swimming in the surface in the sun dappled water, and the jellyfish floating. Is that a diver near the bottom? I like the way you have painted the kelp reaching up to the sunlight. I would like to swim in your ocean.

Dear Mira, I love your painting. I like the color juxtopositioning, how one color stands out and contrasts with the next one and all the intricate decoration on the color blocks and those haunting green eyes and turquoise face against the red nose and lips. Did you learn that green and red are complimentary colors?

Mira, I love your flowers. You put such details into the petals and the bright blue background, makes me think of summer.

Dear Mira, Your picture is very interesting. There is so much movement in those floating bodies yet its very calming. I like the way the people are a little to one side and some figures are only partly in the picture. It extends the picture beyond the boundaries of the physical piece of paper and adds a dreamy quality. What do you think? Love Grandma Hilary.

I love this cat. The colors are vivid. The more I look at the picture the more I see the detail of the cat's mouth and paws and tail. The squiggly lines give a feeling of movement, the cat is still but any moment it could jump up or slink away. Where you learning about abstract expressionism?

Mira, I love your new picture. I like the way you juxtaposed shapes and shades of blue, green and purple to make an abstract building using color to add depth. I read that you have been learning about Paul Klee. He would have liked your painting.

Mira, your picture of the Koala bear is very lifelike especially the black nose and furry ears. I read about a dog that saved a baby koala bear from the fires in Australia. The koala baby was clinging to the dog's back. The dog was a hero!

Mira, I love the juxtaposition of vibrant pinks and purples in your painting and the way the foreground stands out from the gentler colors in the background and the way the vase of flowers and use of yellow stands out and catches the eye.
