I love how you used the white tape to create a light cast on the dark figure. I also like how you used negative space to create a person within the lines. The spacing of the tape in the background creates a sense of a light source.

The piece has a strong bumpy texture that is created by the layered paint and oil pastels. The rough leathery texture in the background makes a nice contrast with the red trees. The variety of textures and shadows such as the tree with no leaves and the tree with leaves adds good depth.

The purple and white pattern as the background establishes the look of tiles through the repetitive process you chose to incorporate. The value from light to dark in the shading of the sphere and the shadow just beneath it adds a sense of realism that the viewer is drawn to.

I really like how the spheres are shaded with the one point being the highlight of the light hitting it and the darkness in the rest of it. I also like how the subtle color on the animal is shown in the poles.

I really like how you made all the spherical links of the caterpillar look 3 dimensional and make them appear twisting and moving farther away as the links get smaller, I also like how you added depth with the rods going through the moving caterpillar and the cute face you put on it.

I really like the shading you did, it makes the spheres look very 3 dimensional! I also like the brainstorm with the cubes you put in and working on making them not look flat. I like the experimenting with the colors as well

Not only did you studied shadows using alcohol markers but you also used lines for it. I also like how you use both the yellow and orange colors to create a warm atmosphere.

I think this piece highlights how good of an understanding you have of space within your art with how you utilize the rule of thirds, movement, and contrast to build the meaning you’re trying to portray.
