I love how you used the white tape to create a light cast on the dark figure. I also like how you used negative space to create a person within the lines. The spacing of the tape in the background creates a sense of a light source.

The piece has a strong bumpy texture that is created by the layered paint and oil pastels. The rough leathery texture in the background makes a nice contrast with the red trees. The variety of textures and shadows such as the tree with no leaves and the tree with leaves adds good depth.

The purple and white pattern as the background establishes the look of tiles through the repetitive process you chose to incorporate. The value from light to dark in the shading of the sphere and the shadow just beneath it adds a sense of realism that the viewer is drawn to.

The repeated pattern in the background creates strong visual rhythm. The wood on top of the background separates the two different patterns nicely and shows texture in light and dark value.

The use of shading in this piece highlights how each object interacts with one another, giving it a realistic look to it. The texture of the wood in the background also supports the illusion. Combines with the checkered background I get the idea that this object would be something I would find in a kitchen.

The checkered pattern in the background gives this piece a meaning. The wooden texture goes very well with the purple and pink theme.

Your smooth shading and highlights make the sphere appear realistic, while the geometric base adds structure and stability. The balanced composition and background pattern help emphasize the main subject.

The muted colors on the wall provide a contrast between the dark table and the bright tower.

I like how high contrast and bright the colors are. The way that red its used in the shadows creates unity between the different objects.

The detail of the wood gives a grainy texture. The background stone pattern matches the theme and contrasts with the bright purple stool.

The light and dark shading really brings out dimensional look to you art piece especially the contrast. This reminds me of a inchworm but in cartoon version.

I love the shadows and gradation present in this piece. The tiles and wood grain details give it so much life. I can tell exactly where the light is coming from and the use of chess pieces in the tower are very creative.

The light and dark shading truly brings the 3-dimensional look to the artwork, essentially showcasing the direction of the light source as well. Truly amazing work with the realistic effect.

I really like how the spheres are shaded with the one point being the highlight of the light hitting it and the darkness in the rest of it. I also like how the subtle color on the animal is shown in the poles.

You successfully used extreme lights and darks (and of course shades of gray in between) to emphasize the contrast on each sphere, which also evidently shows your light source. Good job!

The smooth shading was done well, creating a nice three-dimensional effect.

I really like how you made all the spherical links of the caterpillar look 3 dimensional and make them appear twisting and moving farther away as the links get smaller, I also like how you added depth with the rods going through the moving caterpillar and the cute face you put on it.

I really like the shading you did, it makes the spheres look very 3 dimensional! I also like the brainstorm with the cubes you put in and working on making them not look flat. I like the experimenting with the colors as well

Not only did you studied shadows using alcohol markers but you also used lines for it. I also like how you use both the yellow and orange colors to create a warm atmosphere.

I think this piece highlights how good of an understanding you have of space within your art with how you utilize the rule of thirds, movement, and contrast to build the meaning you’re trying to portray.

The negative space of the tree, as well as the darker values of the ink help to emphasize the details of the tree as well as create a foreboding mood around the image

I like how you emphasized the negative space using solid black ink, and used the dry brush to create a unique, fitting texture.
