I really enjoyed reading what you had to say about this piece of artwork. I feel so many people can relate to the struggle of balancing and to “keep fighting” so as to not fall into the black abyss. It’s also important to note that their back is to the edge & they can’t see how close they are to falling into darkness. I think people should look at the artwork, read your thoughts, and let it sit with them for a few days. After some time has passed, look at the piece again & see how perspectives & reactions have changed. For anyone living with a loved ones suicide, I think we keep thinking back, over & over again, analyzing what we knew, what we didn’t know, and wondering if we could have prevented it. We will never know for the ones we’ve lost. One thing we can do to make a difference is to talk about it, let people know we care, and help remove the stigma of mental health. The more we talk about it, the better we help others to talk about it. My sincere thanks to the artist for their ability to bring the conversation to the table. -- Jennifer
