This piece has a really bold hexagonal feel with the way the angular, silhouette points outward in the middle before slanting back up to the flat top plane. The layer of papier-mâché over the cardboard foundation gives the broad front panel a rough, textured look that breaks up the rigid symmetry. I love how the round cut out opening on top creates a cool contrast with all the sharp, geometric corners, everywhere else. The wide, prominent facets really catch the light in a way that emphasizes the solid 3D mass of the overall form.
