One of my favorite birds! I love this scene- a hungry cardinal in the snow looking for a sunflower blue seed. The colors you used for this composition are fantastic! That black tree dominates the background and initially looks scary to me with all those twisted limbs and bent trunk, but then you skillfully put the soft white snowflakes all around it and the winter sun shines through. The deep blue color is very vibrant and I especially like the variation of color you used in the blue background and blueish snowflakes. Just like nature, you have a variation in all those things. Everythnig is different if you look at it close enough and by using slightly different colors, you make that difference obvious. So I think the upper half of the picture is really super. That large cardinal really makes a bold statement. Even though it's cold with little food to be found, here is your subject working hard just to find something to eat. Reminds me of you- when the going gets tough, you get going! The tiny footprints in the snow add an element of realism to the entire image. That's exactly what I'd expect to see if this were outside. That cone on the top of the cardinals head is cool- real cool. Not a regular shape, but a cool shape. -- Gee
