I can see why Veda has titled this work "Sea Yarn." It looks like a shell from the sea that you find everywhere on the world's beaches. And its composed of yarn. While the yarn is finely balanced and synchronized, so near perfect like the shell itself what interests me is the other piece of art that goes into naming it. Namely, the art of the imagination. In naming it Veda is spinning a yarn, so to speak to connect this work to the sea. See? If she had not named it most people would see the shell shape, the geometric symmetry and only a few would have connected it to the sea. So in naming it Veda is engaing in another work of art, creating fiction that alllows us to see and smell the sea as we walk along the beach picking up lovely shell to take home.
