This piece is one of the artist's early forays into tenebrism. The use of irregular forms is reminiscent of Van Gogh and LeWitt. Clearly inspired by the story telling of Dr. Seuss as well, we are drawn first to the door and up the stairs to a starry rooftop. In true Seuss fashion, the stairs and even the walls are somewhat whimsically drawn and lead us on a meandering path to our out of center point of focus.
