Biography

I grew up in Middletown, DE (a small town in a small state) on a fruit and vegetable farm. I was artistic since elementary school, I always enjoyed drawing and writing stories, but I figured out I wanted to be an artist in high school. I focused on painting for many years and studied at Delaware College of Art & Design, The Schoool of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tufts University. I have my Bachelors's degree in fine art and my Master's degree in art education. I began teaching in Miami, FL where I taught high school art for 8 years. I taught one year at MacFarland Middle School in Washington, DC, and ultimately moved to Johnson City, TN where I live with my husband, 6-year-old stepdaughter, our little golden doodle, cat, and chickens. I still paint as frequently as possible and exhibit my paintings. Art is a huge part of my life and I'm very blessed to be able to share it with your amazing students. We have so much fun in art class and are excited to show you what we've been up to.
