Welcome Back to Holton Art! New Art Teacher, Supplies, Website and Art Lessons!

Welcome back to another fabulous year in the Holton Art Room! This marks my 5th school year at Holton and I am thrilled to be sharing the art room this year with another lovely art teacher, Ms. Becky Carey.  Please make her feel welcome to Holton! I will be teaching the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday classes while Ms. Carey will be teaching on Thursdays and Fridays.

Here are just a few tidbits I wanted to inform you of as we get our creativity flowing this fall:

Supply Donations Needed for the Art Room (101): baby wipes, gallon ziplocks, sharpie markers, pencils, newspaper, paper lunch bags, sidewalk chalk

There are blank registration forms on the above website and in the Art Room (101) and I will send forms home with interested students this Monday.

Info and Description of the classes:
Students will meet Ms. Branigan Fought at dismissal in the school cafeteria where they can have a snack before class and then head to the art room at 3:45pm. Please pick up your child promptly at 4:45pm from the art room (101).

Personal checks (made out to Sarah Branigan) or cash accepted. You may use credit cards through paypal by paying directly to: sarahfought@gmail.com.  All payments due at time of registration.  You will receive email confirmation of registration and receipt of payment.

*Please don’t forget to pack a snack for your child if you like and if they are enrolled in the tie-dye class, they need to provide their own tie-dye ready items. Please also send a written note to your child’s teacher letting them know that your child will meet with Ms. Fought at dismissal on the day(s) of their art lessons.

Open Art Studio
Drawing, Collage, Printmaking & Painting
20 students max, grades K- 5
Mondays 3:45- 4:45pm (September 15, 22, 29, October 6 & 13)
$75 per student for five weeks
Let your child explore art materials and create in their own way.  Lessons focus on media techniques but leave the theme and imagery open to each student’s imagination! This class is perfect for the child who loves to explore and get creative!
Open Clay Studio
15 students max enrollment, grades K- 5
Tuesdays 3:45- 4:45pm (Sept 16, 23, 30, October 7, & 14)
$75 per student for five weeks + $10 materials fee = $85
We will make hand built sculptures and functional objects using clay!  Students will also have the chance to try out the pottery wheel with assistance. This class is for students who would love more time working with clay and getting their hands dirty, literally!
Tie-Dye Workshop
20 students max enrollment, grades K- 5
Wednesdays 3:45- 4:45pm (September 17 & 24)
$30 per student for two weeks
Students will have fun learning all about different tie-dye techniques and making their own tie-dye creations! Please provide a white t-shirt for the first week and then any other white fabric materials (pillow case, socks, etc) for week two.
Paper Making Workshop
15 students max enrollment, grades K- 5
Wednesdays, 3:45- 4:45 (October 1, 8 & 15)
$45 per student for three weeks
Students will learn all about making their own papers using recycled paper, water, a blender and special screens.  We will then use our handmade papers to create our own small blank books.
