5th Annual Crop for the Arts
Mannington's 5th annual Crop for the Arts is quickly approaching.  This is a day to support our music and art program by coming out to scrapbook or work on other arts related projects with a group of creative individuals. The 45 dollar fee covers a space to create in our all purpose room. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks will be served throughout the day. Vendors will have scrapbooking supplies available for purchase.  A Cricut station will be set up and an art student will be demonstrating and assisting those interested in using the machine.

Past funds earned have gone toward the cost of busses and entrance fees for music and art museum trips, sewing machine servicing, and specialty art supplies.

For more information, please contact Mrs. Allen, pallen@manningtonschool.org or Mrs. Sakewicz-Frank at hsakewicz@manningtonschool.org

National Compliment Day
National Compliment Day is Saturday, January 24th, 2015. It feels great to hear others compliment and praise our work. Comments such as, "Wow, that looks amazing!" and "How did you make that?," leave us smiling and feeling better about ourselves. A sincere compliment builds self-esteem and promotes good work. National Compliment Day gives us all a chance to make someone else's day better. Those receiving the compliments aren't the only ones who benefit, giving a sincere compliment improves how you feel and defeats loneliness. Proving true the saying, "There is more happiness in giving than receiving."

Students will have time during class this week and next to send compliments to other artists and friends. Take time on National Compliment Day to
visit Artsonia and compliment your favorite Artsonia artist. Don't forget to approve your Artsonia artist's comments and help spread the joy of National Compliment Day.
