Welcome to an Exciting Year in Mannington Art!
from Mrs. Sakewicz-Frank
Creativity is Messy and We Are Very Creative!

Art has always been one of my favorite classes because I knew I was going to get messy and in the art room it was allowed. While I do my best at the lower grades to order "washable" media those colors don't always wash out. Please remember to send a smock with your younger students and save those brand new outfits for another day.

International Day of Peace: September 21st is the International Day of Peace and our students are working on their Pinwheels for Peace. We plan to display our pinwheels in front of the school on Friday, September 19th, because Peace Day is on Sunday this year. My five year old told me that peace means a town with free hugs where you don't have to be afraid of anyone and everyone is happy. Ask your son or daughter what Peace means to them and enjoy their peace inspired pinwheel art.

Our Summer Rocked!  Thanks to everyone who has sent in summer photos for the "Our Summer Rocked" bulletin board by the computer lab. The class with the greatest percentage of pictures on the board by Back to School Night will receive a school spirit award. It has been fun seeing where and what everyone did over the summer. Currently, third grade is in the lead with 58% of the class participating. You can still bring in or email photos to me to add to the board, hsakewicz@manningtonschool.org

Reminder: Remember to check out my school webpage for upcoming art contests, class assignments, and general updates.
