Hi Jasmine, As soon as I saw her, I knew it was Marilyn Monroe. Not only does it look so much like her but your have also captured the essence of her personality. In your statement, you explained about using grid technique and shading. Although shading does take a long time, it really gives the portrait more depth and interest. I really think that you created a fabulous piece of artwork. Love, Grandma

Hi Jasmine, “Rainbow Pascal” is so bright and lively. In your statement you said you used watercolors, yet they are so vivid. How did you do that? I am glad you explained that you drew the lizard and then traced around it on each section of the color wheel. I like the use of lizards’ colors being opposite their color wheel section and the use of a black sharpie. It really makes everything POP!!! I love it. Love, Grandma

Hi Jasmine, It is said that “a picture is worth a thousand words” and “Untitled” certainly is that. Every time I look at it, I make a sad face to share feelings with this girl. I did not find your statement, but the mosaic- type design of hair, face and shirt really adds interest and is complimented by the straight brickwork. I just love her. Love, Grandma

Hi Jasmine, I LOVE this. It is so bright and cheery and I am having fun identifying all you found. You are good at going on a scavenger hunt even though it probably took a long time to find exactly what you wanted. Your choice of background goes right with the objects in giving a fairly light airy feeling. Did you take a picture with your camera or phone? You are terrific. Love, Carolyn

Hi Jasmine, I LOVE your LOVE artwork in the style of Britto. You really created a marvelous piece that is all yours and yet incorporates Britto’s style. What amazes me are all the different patterns you thought up and how intricate each is. I always love to see your artwork because you are so talented. While not as talented as you, I am learning about artists and their styles from you and your art teacher via this great program. Love, Carolyn (Hope Parker gets my comment,I signed his Grandma)

Hi Jasmine, Here it is January and every time I look at this, I find new activities happening. I am so happy that you gave this as a Christmas ornament because I can keep finding new things. As you know, I will have it on display throughout the year, but not on a tree. You are a wonderful artist with a great imagination. Love, Grandma Carolyn

Hi Jasmine, Your leaf looks so real but what is especially nice is that it does not have to be raked up from the lawn. Did you have a real leaf that you traced around first and then colored in? Or did you draw it “Freehand” first. It is wonderful. Love, Grandma Carolyn

Hi Jasmine, What a beautiful piece of artwork. It is a well organized collection of what is important/meaningful to you-each one so artistically crafted. I love how each subject could be an individual simplistic painting & yet you have combined them into one great piece. I even learned that you love coffee. Do you really? Love, Grandma Carolyn

Dear Jasmine, Wow! This caterpillar is so marvelous. It reminds me of a cute song with dance motions that I taught my first graders long before your daddy was born. Since you are so talented in art, singing and dancing remind me to teach it to you. Love, Grandma -- Carolyn

Dear Jasmine, WOW! This sculpture is beautiful. Did you make it out of clay or something else? I love the colors you used. You have such a good imagination and I can't wait to see it when you bring it home. Love, Grandma -- Carolyn

Dear Jasmine, I thought I already wrote you about this wonderful artwork of yours. If not, I am sorry. But I am happy to tell you that I think this is lovely. It reminds me of the sky over New Mexico at sunrise and sunset. There are a lot of tall cactus plants out there. I can't wait to see what your next artwork will be. You are a great artist. I love you. Grandma -- Carolyn

Dear Jasmine, I always knew that you were a good artist and this painting proves it. Your pumpkin on a pizza box looks so real and I love the pink background. I love you very much. -- Grandma
