What's up in the Art Room?
from Sarah Applegate
Our students have been working hard in the art room with Ms. Susan Koenig-Vanderhaar. Here are a couple projects each class has been working on:

  • Kindergarten: Self Portraits and Mondrian Artwork.
  • 1st Grade: Self Portaits, The City and My Neighborhood.
  • 2nd Grade: Day Time, Night time and Hedgehogs.
  • 3rd Grade: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer.
  • 4th Grade: Organic Design with 1 Figurative Shape, Geometric Design.
  • 5th Grade: Initial Design and Symbol of Self
Check back periodically because our PTA Artsonia Committee is working hard to help Ms. Koenig-Vanderhaar upload finished projects! Feel free to message Sarah Applegate on CNXT if you are curious when a classroom will be updated!

Did you know you can also upload art from home projects? YOU CAN! Download the Artsonia App and import photos of your child's art or take a photo within the app! Artsonia is a great way to keep artwork safely tucked away.

Adding family members as FANS is also a great way to share your child's Artwork. Fans can comment words of encouragement and purchase from the gift shop as well. The holidays are right around the corner. Anything purchased from the gift shop helps benefit Jefferson's Art program!

In other Artsonia news, Jefferson Elementary School has added 388 peices of artwork since July 2019. We are officially entered into the Fall Art Drive contest. We will meet the quota to earn entries for both a $100 gift card drawing and the $300 gift card drawing. The gift cards will be for Blick Art Materials for Ms. Koenig-Vanderhaar to use in our art classeoom. The drawing will be October 31st, 2019 and winners will be notified November 7th, 2019. Fingers crossed!

Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world! Our dream is that every young artist will have an online art gallery, preserving their masterpieces in a digital portfolio!
